"I had a 240 box I provided installed not a charging station. 2.5 hours work /$100 in tubing and cable and it did not get installed as I asked. Charged me $880. I have looked around for actual charging station installs and they were $500-$800 for the actual station install. Look around before you hire and make yourself clear as to what you want and how much time they will spend."

"I had a great experience working with this company. From start to finish, their service was professional, efficient, and reliable. They responded quickly, showed up on time, and completed the work in a very organized and timely manner. The quality of their work was excellent, and they clearly know what they’re doing. Everything was done safely and cleanly, with attention to detail. On top of that, their pricing was very fair and reasonable for the level of service provided. It’s not always easy to find skilled trades who combine great service, efficiency, and good pricing, but they delivered on all three. I would definitely recommend them and will be using them again for future projects."

Generator Install questions, answered by experts

Generators are safe to use as long as they are installed and operated correctly according to the manufacturer's recommendations. The most critical safety tips are to never use a portable or fuel-powered generator inside an enclosed space due to the risk of lethal carbon monoxide poisoning; always operate it outdoors where fumes can dissipate away from your home. Additionally, never attempt to connect a generator to your home’s electrical panel yourself—hire a professional to ensure the setup meets safety standards. Finally, avoid overloading the generator by not connecting more appliances than it is rated for, as this can damage your equipment or cause a fire.

While diesel is relatively stable, it won’t last nearly as long as propane and you may have to replace it if it sits unused for too long. Diesel can sometimes struggle to work efficiently or start engines during especially cold weather, so it’s not the best choice for every climate. Compared to fuels like propane and natural gas, diesel generators tend to be noisier and create more exhaust, which isn’t always ideal for home use.

Yes, installing a generator usually increases your property value because buyers are getting the added peace of mind knowing they’ll be able to maintain power through blackouts. In most cases, you should see close to a 100% return on investment (ROI). Keep in mind that home generators usually need a permanent foundation, and installing a concrete slab will likely raise your property taxes slightly.

An undersized whole-house generator has the potential to overheat and shut down when you try to run a central AC system. This scenario can not only damage the whole-house generator, but can also trip your home’s breakers or cause electrical damage. To avoid this situation, hire a local generator installer to correctly size your whole-house generator.

Yes, natural gas generators can work without electricity. Natural gas generators are a common type of backup or whole-house generator that operates when the electrical grid isn’t working. The trick is using a transfer switch (which usually needs to be installed with the generator) that safely switches the home electrical system from the power grid to generator power when needed.
