"We hired Kyle to help us remove thinset through some main parts of our home. His sub was as able to do the work quickly. And when we weren’t 100% satisfied with cleanup and the smoothness/flatness of the concrete subfloor Kyle got the sub back out to finish the job and cleaned up himself. Really enjoyed working with him, he was easy to get a hold of. We were glad a very tedious and time consuming job was taken care of for us."

"Sentri Homes provided the most professional flooring service I’ve ever had. The LVP installation turned out absolutely beautiful, and I was amazed at how quickly everything was completed without sacrificing quality. The crew was fast, accurate, and extremely detail-oriented from start to finish. Everything was installed cleanly, precisely, and with real craftsmanship. The entire process was smooth, efficient, and far beyond what I expected. I would absolutely recommend Sentri Homes to anyone needing flooring installed."

"Excellent! Couldn't be happier with Clic Homes! We had some issues due to an error made by a third party designer/architect we hired prior to enlisting Clic Homes services. However, with Clic Homes experience and exceptional customer service, they helped us quickly identify a solution. We are very happy with their work, professionalism, and attention to detail. I highly recommend them!"

"Kent Nickell Construction are amazing to work with! As a single mom, I was overwhelmed with finding a builder I felt I could trust and that wouldn’t charge extra on things. They were very clear with cost and gave me a cost guide and budget that was easy to follow with the sub-contractors they were working with. Any time I had a question they took the time to explain things out so that I could understand. They took me aside and encouraged me to do plans for a future basement so that when I finished it I would have the plans all figured out, and then priced out the home with and without the basement so I could make a decision from the get go. I didn’t think I would be able to do a basement rental right away, but with them taking the time going over the pros and cons, it was an easy decision to put a rental in right away to help me with mortgage costs and didn’t cost me a ton more. I built in 2023, one of Utahs wettest years we had in a while, and they went above and beyond with making sure that my basement would be protected. All the while keeping me informed. They knew my needs would be different than a double income family and I felt like they made sure any choices I made would benefit me in the long run and not break my budget. Honestly working with them I felt like I was working with family. They cared about things like if I would have had my dad or brothers build a home for me. You can tell they build each home as if it were their own. I appreciated the time and care they took to give me a beautiful custom home that I could afford and not like one of these quick up, cut corners, type of work that I was afraid I would end up with not having a construction background myself. I am truly grateful I found them as a builder and would recommend them to anyone. Thank you!"

Barndominium Builders questions, answered by experts

Building a treehouse can vary in difficulty depending on factors such as design complexity, size, and the builder’s woodworking experience. Basic treehouses with simple designs can be manageable for DIYers with some carpentry skills, while more elaborate structures may pose challenges. Adequate planning, research, and careful execution can make the process more manageable, and resources like premade plans or professional assistance are always available for additional support.

Complex plumbing is tricky and expensive in an off-the-ground dwelling like this. By considering options like composting toilets, rainwater collection, and gray-water sinks, you save money and help the environment.

Any type of construction that damages a tree’s roots via soil compaction can be dangerous, and is one of the primary causes of mature tree death in residential areas. Simply putting lots of weight on the ground around the tree, like construction supplies, trailers, and equipment, can kill roots near the surface. Of course, installing new foundations, patios, or utility lines can cut through nearby tree roots. Accidentally striking a tree with equipment or supplies is rarely a problem, but can cause damage of its own, too.

Yes, barn doors can be too heavy, although the limitation is usually imposed by the mounting hardware you buy and not your home’s framing, unless you’re building an unusually wide door. To keep the weight down, you can opt for 1-by material rather than 2-by material, and choose a softwood like pine rather than a hardwood like maple or oak. Check the weight limits on your mounting hardware, and always attach your door track to studs rather than to drywall anchors.

You can use a variety of wood to build a barn door, but the most common options include 1-by boards and 2-by boards for the backing and the decorative boards on the front of the door. Softwoods like pine will save you some money and should hold up well, while hardwoods like maple and oak will stand up to more wear and tear. You could also build the backer out of plywood to minimize the cuts you need to make. Whatever you decide on, make sure the width of the wood is compatible with the mounting brackets you buy.
