"The workers knew what they were doing and they were very efficient and eager to please I reall be like the way the project turned out. I recommend Utah Valley landscaping To anyone who needs set type of work"
"July 2026. Bryan and his crew accomplished all that I had outlined on a spec sheet for the replacement of our driveway, interior garage floor, and sidewalk. Bryan paid attention to detail from the spec sheet to what was needed to make the walkways ergonomically safe to the finishing touches on the surface and edges. The project was completed within the promised time and was fairly priced. He communicated often and kept me up to date on the status of the project. I would recommend him to my friends and family."
"Franklin did a great job! He was very mindful with our modest budget and planned a beautiful retaining wall and walkway for our sloped yard for a very reasonable price. He communicated well and completed the work in the timeframe he specified. He is one of the kindest and most reliable contractors I’ve ever met."
"Stu and his team at Xperience were great to work with. They were honest, professional, and delivered exactly what they promised. The job was completed efficiently, and the entire process was smooth from start to finish. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality work and dependable service."
"Juan and Alfredo are some of the hardest workers I've ever met. They, not only took care of our grading problem, they also transformed our backyard into our dream entertainment space. They were easy to work with and implemented all of our changes on the fly. Highly recommend."
"Tonga Brothers LLC was a pleasure to work with. They know their business, they do what they say they are going to do when they say they are going to do it. They demolished the front porch of my 80 year old home and completely rebuilt it. They also transplanted 2 old rose bushes for me (that were on either side of the porch) and installed handrails on my new porch. My porch looks completely different and has given the house much needed face lift. I would highly recommend them without any reservation. They are great to work with- they do bend over backwards for the customer!!!"
"They were quick to respond to my request and schedule time to remove my old lawn and install new sod. Crystal and her team did a great job, were punctual and professional."
"The service worked out fine. They showed up when they were supposed to, did their work and left. The interaction with them was delightful, and the work they did seems fine."
"The main point-of-contact guy (crew manager?) who came to our house for the estimate and later for the work itself was exceptionally friendly and very responsive. The crew were all extremely efficient and quick and very clean. They were quiet and unobtrusive, and we were always amazed at how little time it took them to do the work over the 2 or 3 visits they made to finish everything. They never left any mess anywhere. When removing the diseased lawn with a machine, they accidentally tore out our buried phone, internet, and cable lines. They took full responsibility, calling the phone company IMMEDIATELY and coordinating repair and billing directly with them. (Century Link, on the other hand, was horribly unresponsive in reburying the line and did an extremely sloppy and unprofessional job of digging through our yard, totally messing up our newly replaced lawn. This is not a direct reflection on Aposhian, but it was a shame we had to deal with this.) Be sure, if there is any question, to have the crew manager contact the phone, gas, etc. companies prior to work, even if it is "shallow" lawn work and have the area marked for utilities lines ahead of time. We could have avoided a mess on our end if we had insisted on this. Despite the phone line mess, we would definitely use Aposhian again. They were very concerned about making us completely satisfied. Retaining Wall Installers questions, answered by experts
If you've decided you'd like to skip the cost of restoring a brick exterior wall after considering whether you should repair or replace brick on your house, you can consider installing fiber cement siding over brick for a cost of $2 to $6 per square foot. When done properly, cement siding over brick offers a durable, low-maintenance option that can actually reduce your home's energy costs. It's also attractive. However, improper installation or installation over heavily compromised brick can cause water damage.
Poured concrete is often the cheapest material for a retaining wall, costing around $6 to $8 per square foot. Other budget-friendly options include vinyl and landscaping timbers, which range from $10 to $15 per square foot; landscaping timbers are particularly well-suited for DIY projects. Untreated timber and railroad ties are a step up in price, starting at $15 to $25 per square foot. Natural stones can also be a cost-effective choice if you can source them from your own property, but they can be expensive to purchase. High-end materials like steel are typically the most expensive but offer superior durability and aesthetics.
Generally, a railroad tie retaining wall consisting of a single line of ties should be between 3 and 4 feet tall—and the height often tops out at around 6 feet. You can go taller, but you may need additional footings and reinforcements, including a second layer of railroad ties to support the added weight of the soil it’s holding back.
Through proper drainage solutions and compacting the foundation soil.
Most retaining wall installations can be finished in one to three weeks, but the timeline varies based on factors like wall size and material. The local climate and major weather events, such as storms or flooding, can also extend the project's timeline, as can any holds ups in the permitting process.
