"Franklin did a great job! He was very mindful with our modest budget and planned a beautiful retaining wall and walkway for our sloped yard for a very reasonable price. He communicated well and completed the work in the timeframe he specified. He is one of the kindest and most reliable contractors I’ve ever met."

"Moala brothers replaced and expanded the driveway, added a retaining wall, built steps for a new door, and referred a tree company to remove the tree that damaged the driveway. I am looking forward to working with them again on projects in the back yard."

"The guys did a great job both times of the year. As an elderly person it was great to be able to trust that my yard would be taken care of. In the fall they trimmed down my ornamental grasses and shrubs in anticipation for winter. They also disposed of the grasses, etc which was included in the quote provided. I will definitely use their services again!"

"The first available appointment for the bid was 3 week out from my phone call.  They arrived within the appointment window and gave some great advice on the project.  We were told in advance that if we didn't go with them for the work, there would be a fee for the appraisal visit. We ended up not being able to do it due to a semi-emergency knee surgery for my husband.  We were billed the fee and paid it.

Retaining Wall Installers questions, answered by experts

The longevity of flood walls depends on how they were constructed, but most wood, gravel, and cement flood walls last 10 years. While aluminum flood walls may cost far more initially, they can be a good investment as they can last decades and will not be damaged by exposure to the elements.

DIY is possible for small projects. Professional installation ensures structural integrity and durability for larger walls.

Regular inspection for issues like cracks or leaning and ensuring drainage stays clear.

Even if you think you know how to build a retaining wall theoretically, doing the actual work is a completely different story. There are lots of nuances in building retaining walls, and the slightest oversight can compromise their integrity. Therefore, we recommend you hire a pro to build, repair, or replace retaining walls.

The lifespan of a retaining wall varies based on its material, installation quality, maintenance, and local climate, with an average range of 20 to 100 years. Retaining walls made from durable materials like concrete, stone, and brick generally last a minimum of 50 years. Concrete walls typically last between 50 and 100 years, while brick can last for over a century in ideal conditions. Timber retaining walls can last from 20 to 40 years, depending on the wood quality, and pressure-treated wood walls average around 30 years. It is important to note that a retaining wall can fail prematurely if it was poorly constructed, for example, with inefficient footings or without necessary rebar reinforcements.
