"The technician (Lance) was courteous, professional, and very helpful. He took the time to gather all of the background info regarding our AC situation and gave us helpful tips regarding vent usage, attic fans, and installing another vent in the master bedroom to help with airflow. Basically, he didn’t just band-aid the symptom, he helped with some permanent solutions. Here’s the breakdown in cost in case this helps: Adding 3 lbs refrigerant - $349. Contractor Replacement - $282. Dual Run Capacitor Replacement - $174. Annual maintenance for AC & Heating (2 units each) $238."

"Buyer beware, I had an emergency service. I called them. They said they?d be out in five hours. They sent me a written confirmation and then they just dropped it without notifying me. They canceled the appointment when I left a bad review. They said they were so so sorry they would call to make it right. They can?t make it right. The damage was already done and they never called. I think it?s just gaslighting to make them look good be very, very, very careful before you hire these guys and if you sort their reviews from worse the best you will see they have many many many one star reviews my advice stay away from this company "

STC (Sound Transmission Class) ratings tell you how well something blocks airborne noise. It’s a single number that sums up how much sound a material, like a window, can stop across regular speech frequencies. The higher the number, the better the sound reduction. A typical single-pane window hovers around STC 25 (where you can hear normal conversations), while well-sealed, double-pane options can push past STC 45 (which blocks out loud speech and most music). Just keep in mind that STC doesn’t cover everything—low rumbles like bass or thunder can sneak through—so pairing methods are always ideal for the most peace and quiet.

Depending on the level of audit you choose, a home energy audit will at least include a walk-through of the home to determine visible inefficiencies, but may include testing and a highly detailed inspection and report laying out the home’s inefficiencies and providing recommendations to fix those issues. R-value is a measurement that dictates how much resistance an insulation material has against heat flow—or how well it can stop heat from coming and going. A higher R-value, which is attributed to thicker and more dense materials, means the better the insulation performs. There is not one universal recommended value. It depends on climate zones. For example, Alaska, which has a naturally cold and arctic climate, has higher R-value recommendations than the hot and humid Hawaii.

A couple of the best ways to find a reputable energy auditor is by determining whether they are HEP-certified by the Building Performance Institute (BPI). This certification will help you narrow down your list of professionals to the most qualified pros with the most relevant experience.
