Small jobs welcome

"They are AMAZING. Other companies were very forward with the age of my home brick would not be possible to match even close. Cary came out to look and brought two brick one was close but the other was as if it had come off my house. Others said they would not remove and frame up the area. Cary removed the window and framed it and sealed it then did a beautiful job . So friendly , came when he said, asked as he worked if things were like I wanted. THEY WERE ABOVE AND BEYOUND! Already gave his name and card to others. The price was the best part, He was well below others and did high quality work. WOULD I USE HIM AGAIN? IN A HEART BEAT. THE AREA WAS CLEANER THAN WHEN HE CAME."

"Francisco was very responsive. He answered all my questions and concerns. He understood my goals and made excellent suggestions for my two car concrete driveway project. He also seemed to be the most familiar with the local code requirements. I was prepared to go with his proposal before I even saw the quotes I'd requested. He was very realistic about the time frame for completion and communicated when plans were adjusted. I couldn't be more pleased with the results. Francisco and his crew worked hard and did a great job."

"Awesome, wonderful experience. Estimate was done the first week that we got in touch for my driveway, very fair price, awesome guy! They were able to schedule me in very quickly, and then they beat that schedule by almost 2 weeks! GS will always be my go to for concrete work, if you want a company that cares about their customers, and doesn’t drag their feet, this is the place!"

"We connected on the net , they responded quickly. We decided on a time for the next day. They were on time, ( something unheard of here in St George) got the job done in NO time. I could not be happier or pleased with their ability and knowledge as to how the concrete needed to be opened up without damaging any water lines beneath it. I am a happy camper and would recommend this company totally."

Masonry questions, answered by experts

Landscape boulders, especially porous stones like sandstone or granite, can crack or break over time. Cracks occur when water seeps into the surface of the stone and freezes. The risk is highest when it rains during the day and temperatures freeze overnight since the moisture has time to penetrate deeper into the rock before expanding.

Yes, limewash on brick can accumulate dust over time. Its porous nature can attract dust particles, especially in environments with high levels of dust or dirt. Additionally, if the limewash surface is left unsealed, it may be more prone to collecting dust. Additionally, incorrectly applied limewash will generate dust. Causes include applying it too thickly instead of thin layers and not allowing enough drying time between layers. Regular maintenance, such as gentle cleaning or dusting, can help mitigate dusty issues.

A mason lays brick or stone together, sometimes with mortar in between the bricks and stones, and sometimes without mortar, also called a dry-stack or surface bonding. Examples of work masons do include:

  • Brick, stone, or cement block houses and buildings

  • Freestanding stone or brick walls

  • Chimneys with wood-burning fireplaces

  • Cement block basement or crawl space walls

Yes! Hot glue is an excellent—and temporary—way to spread holiday cheer with Christmas lights without damaging your brick exterior.

Yes, concrete is significantly stronger than masonry, especially if the concrete pour includes reinforcements, like steel rebar. Concrete is a uniform material that can withstand compression, sheer force, and tensile force as long as it’s reinforced. Masonry involves the use of mortar or grout to connect individual building materials, like brick, stone, or tile. Mortar and grout are also reasonably strong and resist compression well, but they don’t come close to the strength of poured concrete.
