"We were in a difficult spot & a less reputable company could have taken advantage of the situation. Salt Lake City called notifying us of continuously flowing water and a very sharp increase in our water bill. We needed to shut off the main water line immediately. After the City came out, we looked on Angi and found "Low Price Landscaping & Sprinkler." They came quickly, assessed the situation, provided a price that lived up to their name, and started work immediately. They kept us informed of what they were doing and why. They worked diligently and efficiently completing the job much sooner than we expected and on budget. We would highly recommend "Low Price Landscaping & Sprinkler." We have already referred them to our son."

"Tree looks great! They took out a lot of tangle branches and opened the tree for better air movement and curbside appeal. After the work was done they did a fantastic job in cleaning up. Mind you this was in February and they did have to work through the snow and ice. All-in-all the service and result were excellent."

"They really took care of my front yard, but I was a little disappointed in my backyard. This may be because as they were working in the front yard, I told them that I would like to put in the backyard as well. They got rid of the weeds first and then they put the sod down, but they didn't do that with my back yard and I've got weeds coming up through the sods. However, their price was really good and other than that, they did a really good job."

Weed Services questions, answered by experts

Weeds can grow through rubber mulch, but it depends on if you removed all the weeds in your garden beforehand. Weeds already in the soil can grow even when using rubber mulch. However, that doesn’t mean that your garden will be littered with rubber and weeds, but it does mean that the occasional weed might still pop up. Another way you can increase your weed suppression is by using landscape fabric as a second layer.

Weed control applications usually cost around $100 each for a standard-size yard, and most professionals charge between $30 and $60 per hour for manual weed removal. Your total is affected most by the size of the weeded area. Some weed service companies offer weed control treatments, selective herbicide spraying, and manual removal and upkeep as part of a package, costing around $600 annually. You might pay less if you hire the same company for other lawn services, like flower bed upkeep, aeration, overseeding, and pesticide application.

Dandelions, while hard to control and widespread across the country, are not typically categorized as noxious. Yellow starthistle, however, looks very similar to a dandelion and is highly damaging to local plants and invasive across the country.

Each type of weed comes with its own control methods, but stopping the seed spread is the first step. Grazing, mowing, and hand pulling can slow the invasion. In some cases, selective herbicide is necessary to stop a persistent weed from overtaking an area.

Pulling weeds once per month is typically often enough to keep most weeds at bay. But in general, it's best to pull weeds as soon as you spot them to prevent deep root growth and slow their spread. To make it easier, plan your weed pulling after rain or after the sprinklers run so the soil will be nice and wet and the weeds will be easier to pull. If you notice moss accompanying weeds, make a plan to remove the moss immediately to prevent damage.
