Small jobs welcome

"Air Duct Cleaners is absolutely the best we have ever used! They did a fantastic job and our home feels even cooler than it did before they cleaned out everything. That has never happened before! Their pricing is very fair and the workers are very professional and explained everything to us very well. Other companies have tried to upsell us but not Air Duct Cleaners. Great company! We highly recommend them!!!"

"First I ordered my furnace to be cleaned and tuned up.  They were fast.  A serviceman came the next day.  His name was Steve.  He did an excellent job.  What really impressed me was that he took the time to answer questions I had about an unrelated matter. I was thinking about having a whole house humidifier and air purifier installed.  He answered questions for nearly 1/2 an hour - something he wasn't getting paid to do.  I was so impressed that with him that I signed up for their yearly service plan and made sure that he would be the one to come each time.

Because of Steve's answers I also went ahead and ordered the whole house humidifier and air purifier.  My family has some special needs in this regards that required a different set up than Manwill normally installs.  Again, they were incredibly helpful and fast.  Brian was my main contact.  He did a couple of hours of research to find out just how to meet my families needs.  Again they were really quick.  Within two days of my phone call Matt Perkins and Jared came to install the humidifier and air purifier.  They had to build an entirely new floor to ceiling air duct to make sure that everything worked. They did an absolutely beautiful job.  I would hire them again anytime.  After they left, though, I realized that they had missed one part of the installation.  I called and Brian promised to have someone out the very next day to fix the issue. Everything works perfectly, just as I needed it to.  Overall, the experience was excellent.  I will do business with Manwill again next time I need anything done with my HVAC system."

"Nick at Humphrey is GREAT. His work is excellent, he's friendly, and professional. In addition to the work he did here, he made a great recommendation regarding a programmable thermostat (ecobee3) to help solve a problem with my MBR HVAC. I installed the product he suggested and it exactly solved the problem I described to him. So I would hire Nick again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend these guys!"

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Yes, HVAC zoning is generally considered worth the investment by both experts and homeowners. Zoned systems offer significant benefits in convenience, efficiency, and comfort by allowing you to set different temperatures for various rooms or 'zones' in your house. This ability to heat and cool only the spaces you're using leads to energy savings and lower utility bills. Zoned systems are especially effective in multi-level homes that experience temperature fluctuations, but even smaller homes can benefit from the ability to adjust temperatures more quickly. While the up-front installation cost can be high, many find it's a worthwhile long-term investment, particularly for those who plan to stay in their home for a while.

The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers, or ASHRAE, sets the standard guidelines for air changes per hour in homes and businesses. The International Residential Code, or IRC, also sets ACH requirements for residences and bases those requirements off of ASHRAE standards plus climate specifics related to your location.

No, heat pump maintenance needs are very similar to air conditioners, including keeping outdoor units clean, changing filters regularly, and occasionally scheduling a refrigerant check to see if any has leaked out. Heat pumps typically switch automatically between heating and cooling, so you don’t need to worry about manually changing them every season. However, since they are always on call, they can develop wear and tear faster than an air conditioner.

You can protect your air conditioner in the winter by turning off the power at the thermostat and performing routine HVAC maintenance in the spring. Regular maintenance, cleaning, and repair of your AC unit helps protect it and extend its life span. If you have a window AC unit, remove it from the window and store it in a dry place during the winter. Window units cannot withstand freezing temperatures. Keeping them in your window also allows cold air to seep into your home.

You should flush your AC drain line once every three months to keep it clear of debris and buildup. Keeping your AC drain line clean prevents clogs, backups, mold growth, and extra wear on your AC unit. If you live in a humid area or have several furry pets, up your cleaning schedule to once a month.
