’m a skilled frame carpenter with over 10 years of experience building with wood and bringing projects from plans to reality. I do much more than framing, including installing windows and doors, doing trim work, roofing, and handling a wide range of home repairs. I’m comfortable operating heavy equipment like tractors, telehandlers, forklifts, and skid steers, and I’m confident with most hand and pneumatic tools on a job site. I also have practical experience in mechanics, HVAC installation, plumbing, and small electrical work, and I regularly fix things on my own vehicles and around the house. I learn best hands-on, pick up new skills fast when shown once, and I’m strong at troubleshooting and figuring out how things work so I can solve problems efficiently.
"Jose and his team are exceptional. We hired him for 3 small projects (installing a screen door, installing a barn door in the nursery and replacing water damaged ceiling and adding beams). The quality and thoughtfulness of the work far exceeded our expectations. How can you exceed expectations installing a screen door, you ask? He noticed we had cats and made sure to order an upgraded pet-safe door. All materials were included in his estimate and he consistently ordered extremely high quality materials and finishes. He was always exactly punctual and communication was very clear. We would trust Jose with every aspect of our house and immediately requested estimates for additional work after he finished this project. The title "Handyman" doesn't do Jose justice - he's a craftsman."
"Steven came with his crews and painted my 2 story house from top to bottom the pressure washed it to get all the dirt mildew, and falling paint off, then he painted the trim and then began painting the entire house. I had also asked him if he could paint the black balcony gates and he offered to change it for free, he also changed a piece o rotten wood I had on my garage for free. I am very satisfied with his work, I received a couple quotes before calling him and the were charging me 20,000 plus. Not to mention his price was cheaper. his quality of work was excellent and he did a few things for free. I am very happy with his work and will be my go to painter each and every time, he also does a lot of other work so i will call him when i decide to renovate my office and kitchen. "I really wanted to provide a good review to these guys if only for the repeated effort they put in trying to get it right. Once the owner started to blame me and my house for the struggles they had, I decided I needed to write an honest review. So I have a house that was built around 2000 and it has rolled on texture and stamped ceiling texture that is applied using spackling compound. This is very common in this area and prior painters have had no problem matching it. In this case the crew admitted to me they were not professional painters, they did not to keep the area neat (drips on carpet, stain on pool cool deck (photo), stain on garage wall (photo), muddy boot prints on stair carpeting (see photo), etc,), they could not create a straight line in corners where two paint colors merge (see white/blue paint photo), and did not know how to texture. The wall texture had to be done over three times - that is literal. I showed them how to do it. They eventually got that fairly well figured out. The ceiling was another story - the area that had a sheet rock repair was retextured 5 times over three visits (see white ceiling / gray wall paint photos). At first it was totally terrible and I had to tell them what ceiling texture stamping tool to buy from Home Depot (pretty much the main one they sell). One painter told me he watched utube to try and figure out how to use that tool but did not have any experience with texture. He was not satisfied with his own work, to his credit. Finally the owner came and redid it. I was dismayed to find how rough it looks. I have hired someone to re do it. I can not recommend this company. If you do hire them, don't pay up front like I did."
"Mark answered when I first called and was able to come look at the job and provide an estimate the same day. He and a helper arrived the next morning and spent three hours washing leaves and pine needles off the roofs and gutters of both the house and garage. Then also bagged up the debris. Overall, I felt Mark provided a service than I expected. I would call him again to do other projects as listed in his profile."
"I had problems in our back yard with water pooling during heavy rainfall and was concerned about possible flooding of our house and garage. We have a pool and concrete patio, so I knew this was not going to be an easy fix.
Rob came out and spent about 2 hours looking over our situation and talking about options. After he left, he came up with a single plan with components so we could proceed one step at a time, then wait and evaluate the success of that step or do a number of steps at once.
Since we we were very concerned about the possibility of flooding, we elected to proceed with regrading, adding an exterior drainage line from the garage to the street, replacing an existing line from the house to the street, adding catch basins and re-grading areas around the house and garage.
The work was done at the days and times arranged; the crew was very considerate and professional and the work was beautiful.
Most importantly, we have had several very heavy rainfalls and the solutions we had implemented by Works By Rob are performing as well as we had hoped. We had no accumulation of water and no worries!"
