"We just bit the bullet and replaced all of our 1982 windows with Guardian’s best windows. Absolutely love them. They look wonderful and have made a huge difference in the comfort level inside the house in the terrible Texas summer heat. They were reasonable, professional, and friendly. The crew was fantastic from start to finish. I cannot recommend Guardian Windows highly enough."

"It went great! No pressure, good communication with the salesman & installers with the day and time of delivery, and also with the day and time on installation. The installers were very neat and cleaned up as they went. Very happy with the windows and would highly recommend these windows."

"The work, when done, was very professional. Getting it done was a problem. When the first team came and looked at the windows to be fixed, they took measurements and indicated they would call me with the cost. When no call received by late afternoon the next day , I called them, paid complete cost, and was scheduled for the following day. When the second team came, the first window was fixed but the second was not due to incorrect measurement taken by the first team. I asked them come in the morning and was told they would make a note of the request. When I did not receive a call, I checked and was told they would here between 3-5. No note about coming in the AM, and then was told the calls go out based on zipcode regardless of it a job was finished or not, which put me at the end of the day. When they could not make it, I was rescheduled for the AM the following day, but then they were done 2 trucks according to the tech, so they couldn't come until the following week. The only good thing was that between the time it took to get them here, workmen I had doing other things, came across another window with a small crack and 1 broken pane in another, so I was able to get them fixed when they came to finish the initial job. The third team came between 10a -12n. Customer service apologized for all the troubles. It was just very frustrating getting to the point of repair. Scheduled appt 11/24/18 for Mon. 11/26/18. First fix 11/28/18. Final 12/3/18. Probably could have been completed sooner if I wasn't placed at the end of the day based on zipcode each time. Gave 41/2 stars because the work quality and customer service were very good."

"

Can't say enough positive things about my experience with Window City from the initial meeting to the install. I was in need of replacing all 11 of my old metal windows in my ranch style home. After getting 4 different bids I choose Window City - what a great choice!! Greg walked me through the product details, the estimate was really the final cost!! Everyone was very professional, knowledgeable of their craft and VERY respective of my personal property both inside my home and outside. Ron and Elijah did the install - they are very hard working, know what they're doing, work very well together, professional, respective of property, cleaned up after they were done and I don't know how they managed to finish the job in the pouring rain. They kept everything dry but themselves. They should really be commended for their fantastic efforts to get the job done in one day!!

My home is now very soundproof, airtight, secure  and very pleasing to the eyes with the Vista Window.  I've already recommended Window City to my friends, neighbors and co-workers and will continue to do so.  Thank you Window City!!

"Every employee is an exceptional professional. The difference between this business and others is that each employee truly cares about doing a top notch job. Cleanliness and safety are emphasized. Each step of the process was double-checked for accuracy, and we would only buy from this company for quality and perfect installation."

Egress Windows questions, answered by experts

The entire window replacement process, from the initial consultation to the final installation, typically takes between four and 15 weeks. This timeline accounts for measuring appointments, ordering, and manufacturing. On the day of the job, the physical installation takes about 30 minutes to two hours per window. A full-house replacement can take one to three days to complete. Factors that can extend this timeline include the total number of windows, custom sizes, complex window types, second-story installations, and any necessary repairs to existing window frames or openings.

Because egress windows are meant for emergency exiting and entering, they need to be an accessible size. The smallest an egress window is allowed to be is 15 inches in width and height, with an opening of around 4 square feet.

Yes, egress windows must meet local building codes for size and accessibility. Professional installers ensure compliance.

Basements are generally required to have windows for your safety. At a minimum, windows should provide an egress in the event of a fire. But basement windows do more than offer a way out; basement windows also offer natural light and ventilation in an area of your home that is otherwise dark and musty.

If improperly installed, an egress window can compromise your foundation’s structural integrity, so it’s important to work with a pro to ensure your foundation remains in good shape. Any money you may save on a DIY egress window installation may cost you in the long run if your foundation is damaged in the process.
