"We decided to replace our fence that faces the front of our house with a Trex fence. From our first contact with Alan, he was very professional and courteous. He gave us a quote and we decided to hire him. He and his team arrived on time and began to work promptly. They did a fabulous job and cleaned up, then removed all of the old fence. Also it was over 105 degrees today. They worked constantly and were done on time. We have a few more projects and you better believe that we will be calling him again!"

I've lived in Dallas for only a little while, but it already feels like home, I started this company because I wanted to be my own boss and build my own future. I am easygoing, I like to have fun with the process!. I most want my customers to know I always put myself in my customers shoes, treat their home like my own.

"My home was just destroyed after a major fire. I was so worried it would never be able to be fixed. Power Builders came in to my home, they were so amazing. They walked through the house with me and explained the damages and the repairs needed. Everyday they were there working and making magic happen to my home. The materials were great quality and the workmanship that they did reflects the experience and eye for details. The house has been repaired and I swear it is more beautiful than it was when I bought it."

CR Pez, located in Waco, Tx, is a full-servicremodeling company ranging from general work to kitchen & bathroom projects.

"Andy's team is the best! They are all very professional and consistently do great work. We hired them not knowing anyone in Waco at the time, and they did an excellent job the first time and then we re-hired them to do additional work because of their outstanding work ethic, timing, work product and friendliness. I would never hire anyone but this team to do anything around my home. Andy always shows up when he says he will or he calls if there are any issues. Constantly checks on his team and has very responsible employees."

We shoot ya straight. On any given day, one out of every two foundations we inspect doesn’t need any work at all. And if that’s true of your home, we tell you. We give you options. Not all foundation issues are the same. That’s why you get three different piering methods to choose from. Together we find the right solution for you. No more. No less. We honor our warranties. Simply put, there is no fine print. If something you paid us to do fails, we fix it. We’ve been honoring this commitment for over twenty years. We’re on the level. We discuss the things that less reputable companies try to avoid mentioning. Like the fact that plumbing leaks occur about 30% of the time after foundation repair. Because you deserve to know. Additional website - www.welevelit.com. Additional DBAs - CenTex Foundation Repair, Centex House Leveling - Austin LLC, Centex House Leveling - Waco LLC.

"Went great! Coy the inspector called ahead to let us know when he would be arriving. When he got here, he was very courteous and answered all my questions while using an electronic leveler to check the foundation. Clean bill of health for the house at no cost. A terrific experience."

"It's funny... we've been considering a foundation repair company for our current house, and my wife mentioned Integrated Foundation Solutions, which then rang a bell. The experience to follow happened years ago, and we never posted a review to reflect the lousy service from IFS. Truthfully, I think we were too hacked off by the whole experience to focus, at the time. But, after finding all the old emails today, with all the salient details intact, I thought I'd rectify that mistake. (Quoted verbiage to follow is verbatim from emails.) Short version: Before the sale of our previous house, we brought out IFS to level our foundation. Schaun (owner) and Diane (coordinator) sent out a crew headed up by Arlen... during the foundation leveling, one of Arlen's crew kicked loose a plumbing pipe, which then proceeded to soak a portion of the carpet and baseboard in the nearest room. No one on the crew told us, perhaps no one noticed. (Arlen even went so far as to say that there was "not a doubt in his mind" that one of his guys had kicked the pipe connection loose. Further, Arlen mentioned that it was the third occasion one of his team members had caused damage on the job, in the few weeks previous.) After we brought out a plumber for repairs, IFS said that "flooring folks" had been contacted re: examining and repairing the damage caused during the foundation work done by IFS. Later, "flooring folks" became Chris, the boyfriend of Diane, the job coordinator. Chris then proceeded to do a sketchy job repairing the baseboard -- painting it while it was still swollen from the leak, thus causing the color to not match at all, despite him being "in the flooring business for many years" -- so then he had to come out again, and was clearly not thrilled to do so. Schaun would also "not authorize using a carpet cleaning company" to clean the carpet, as a result of his team's screw-up, but they had "already rented a Rug Doctor type machine". Aside from costing us time, this was incredibly frustrating, though I remained pleasant and genial over all email exchanges. We only wanted our house back like it was, before IFS caused some damage. Remember, we were in the process of selling the house and there was a contract pending. Clearly, IFS was attempting to be as cost-efficient as possible, for their own bottom line, though when I recapped the situation, the response I received from Schaun was very defensive. His explanation of "I guess if I had charged as much as the other company wanted, this would be a no-brainer and I'd have everything fixed perfectly" really sums up the entire experience, in that he not only reacted defensively to repeated mistakes MADE BY HIS COMPANY, but admitted that they had not fixed everything perfectly. He also said that in regards to repairing the damage caused by his people, "since this was not a regular profit situation, it is only fair that I utilize people that will save me money to make repairs". Which is sort of funny, in that he is again framing the mistakes & damages made by his company as a "situation" by which HE should be treated fairly, rather than the homeowners on the receiving end. Finally, Schaun ended with a suggestion that we be "realistic" in our expectations... "Remember, we've been on top of this from beginning to end so far... you've had everything done immediately and without a word from us". Well, bully for you, Schaun... your people caused damaged that required multiple repairs, and you didn't even complain about our more than reasonable request for that damage to be repaired. Well done! There's every possibility that IFS has matured and is now a dandy company. Perhaps all these secondary and tertiary employees have moved on. But as we bring out foundation companies to look at our current house, we will absolutely not consider IFS. Never again. Because the owner then is apparently still the owner, today. YMMV."

Decks and Porches questions, answered by experts

Deck pier blocks are one alternative to traditional deck footings. Unlike poured concrete and buried post footings, deck blocks don’t require digging or pouring. They’re best for small or low-to-the-ground decks. Keep in mind, though, that not all areas allow the use of deck pier blocks, so consult your local building codes before choosing them for your deck.

Installing an ornamental or decorative porch column takes around three to five hours. Structural columns take longer because your pro has to install a jack to hold up the roof while switching the column out. If there's any structural damage, it can add several days to the timeline to repair the damage.

Regular cleaning and maintenance are essential to keep your winterized porch in good condition. Clean the screens, furniture, and floors periodically, and check for any signs of damage or wear. Depending on the materials used, you may need to reapply sealants or perform other maintenance tasks annually or as recommended by the manufacturer.

Lattice should not touch the ground, as it creates a possibility for rot and a termite infestation. It’s best to leave a gap of 3 or 4 inches at the bottom for airflow and to keep the wood dry. You can add stones, bricks, or other decorative pieces to conceal the bottom of the lattice if desired.

Constant exposure to inclement weather conditions can damage your deck, causing it to fade, warp, or crack over time. Regular maintenance keeps it looking and performing its best. That means giving it a good cleaning and applying a quality sealant or wood treatment to help defend against moisture, sun damage, and everyday wear.
