"TakeAir Houston came to our home to clean our AC vents. After inspection they found we had a mold infestation in all out AC vents and AC unit. Avi gave us a number of photo's to review and told us what it would take to kill the mold and what would be needed to clean the full system once the mold was eliminated. Avi also showed us photo's and videos of our insulation which was contaminated and also missing in quite a few areas of our loft. He then told us what was need to clean out the old insulation, clean the loft and blow 13" of R38 insulation back in. When the guys turned up to do the work they were very respectable of our home and it's contents. They covered everything up and got on with their work. Once everything was completed they showed us the before and after photos and also gave us a video of the loft area showing us the new insulation. All in all they did a wonderful job, quickly, quietly and without any issues whatsoever. They whole team were great and a pleasure to have in our home. I would definitely recommend TakeAir Houston for any mold, cleaning or insulation work you may have at your home"

"I had looked into and priced spraying insulation in my attic for several months and just couldn't pull the plug on buying the insulation and renting the machine to do it myself. I searched around on Angies List and reached out to Jason. He called me back withing 24 hours and gave me a quote over the phone. Being a simple single story 50'x60' house, approx 3000 sq ft, and referencing I found him on Angies List he gave me a nice concession and booked the appointment for 2 days later. He arrived promptly and was in and out in a matter of 3 hours including cleanup.
I could not have purchased the materials and rented the machine for what he charged me. Not counting the hours that I would have invested myself.
Good call on my part and thanks Jason!

Let me preface this with...I have never done this before, no written review of any kind. These guys are just that impressive. I used RAS after spending over $20 grand and 10 years of bad and untrustworthy AC companies. Fixed everything in the house but the problem. RAS came in like a Superhero!!! Fixed the problems and didn't try to sell me unnecessary stuff.

Had an emergency upon returning home from biz trip, at night, house was 96. Lance had someone over in about an hour! Again fixed problem, cleaned unit and did NOT push me to replace old unit. This week I had them install a new Trane unit. Price and service above my expectations. It is awesome quiet, see the difference in house temps already.

Nut shell- to be able to trust a service company is PRICELESS. Honest, considerate of both my time and my house. Guys wore booties and cleaned up after themselves. Had to come through my kitchen and dining room to get to unit. Moved the furniture and I still couldn't tell they had been here!! Can't say enough about this company. I wish there were more companies that have integrity and care about their customers. One down!

"I am writing this review to commend Cucco's for their professionalism and work ethic. It is very refreshing to deal with a company that is true to what they say they will do and they do it pleasantly  without any hassle. Thank you so much for the  professionalism that you have shown in my dealing with you.  Every technician that has come to my house has been very customer friendly. Martin did an excellent job at correcting a problem with my air conditioner. I truly believe that when you handle customers the way that you do, you will  continue to be blessed in your business.  Thank You!

"Initially it was a bit difficult to schedule because they have very limited hours for which they perform the auditing services.  Once we we were able to schedule the audit, they were on time and very professional. The gentleman who performed the audit was very knowledgable but it was a very quick process.  He said he had everything he needed on his phone and ultimately recommended additional insulation and new windows.  In some respects, I feel like this should have been a part of the estimate process which is customarily free rather than an independent "audit."  Overall, the service is worth it but I might recommend just having someone come out for an insulation estimate instead.

"Got 18” of well placed insulation added to my entire attic and a thorough checkup on my A/C’s performance. They improved my A/C’s return air flow which increased my system’s output by adding an additional return air duct. My cooling and heating bill was reduced approximately 30% as a result."

"Go with HousePro for your HVAC maintenance/repair/replacement needs - you will not be disappointed! They were by far the best HVAC company of the four that I evaluated for a full home A/C system replacement. You know how you usually get the feeling like you’re getting ripped off by these sales guys? You will not get that feeling with HousePro. They are very direct, professional, and will not waste your time or their own trying to squeeze additional money out of you. They charge fair market prices for all their products and services, and guarantee any work they do. Murray, owner of HousePro, came over to my house to give me an estimate. He walked me through the entire system, showing me inefficiencies and other issues with the existing HVAC setup, which was original from the home builder 12 years ago. After doing the system walk through, we sat down in my dining room together and talked very practically about my options. He was by far the most thorough in his explanations of any of the companies I talked to, even going so far as to do some back of the envelope calculations right then and there to ensure that a 4 ton unit was sufficient (when I had been told by the other companies I needed a 5 ton unit, which would have been more expensive and less energy efficient given the size of my home). He went back to the office and confirmed the calculations were correct in his computer program. I trusted these guys so much that I actually had them perform the job while I was on a day trip out of town. The job took longer than expected since it involved a lot of re-ducting, so we had to schedule a follow-up visit. They came back and finished the job the following week. I noticed that the cooling wasn’t quite even throughout the upstairs, so I called them and they came back to make some tweaks. The house now has well balanced airflow, making for a comfortable environment and with a more efficient system than I had before."

"While this ended up costing me way more than I intended to spend with a duct cleaning, it was apparent after Sam (owner) showed me the condition of my ducts on all three furnaces, that they all needed to be replaced.   They were 30 years old, leaking, improperly installed (laying on the ground) and full of old mold and dirt.  He ripped out all the old duct work and replaced it with higher quality lines, properly installed and sealed.    He then sealed the unreachable ducts on the first floor for better airflow.

His crew worked hard in tight quarters throughout the attics to get to all the ducts.   Difficult and dirty work that took a full day.  With the new ducts, the air flow in my house is considerably stronger... remarkably so.  What used to be a trickle of air is now like a fan blowing in each room.

I was so impressed with his work and his crew, I used some of their other services:

I had them spray insulation in my attic
I had them come back to clean the carpets

Then we used UV Sam again for some emergency  furnace/ac repair work on a Saturday night.   An outstanding and trustworthy company led by Sam (who was on-site the whole time and did much of the work himself.)

They have my highest recommendation.

Insulation questions, answered by experts

Spreading tin foil over your windows works similarly to radiant barrier insulation, but not as well. It will reflect some of the sunlight that would otherwise come through the glass and warm up the inside of your home, so it might help a little to keep your home cool in the summer. However, the appearance isn’t preferable to blinds or drapes that can offer the same benefits. You might also consider tinting your windows instead, which is a more aesthetically pleasing change that can still block a good portion of the solar heat coming through your windows.

The most insulative type of insulation for behind drywall is spray foam insulation, but this is the most expensive insulation available. The most common insulation—sometimes considered the best for the value you get for the money—is fiberglass roll or fiberglass batt insulation, which is significantly more affordable but also far less insulative. The best kind of insulation for your house will also vary based on the climate in your area, your budget, and more. A professional insulation company can help you decide which type is best for your home.

A dehumidifier can reduce condensation on your ductwork by lowering humidity levels in the air. Condensation occurs when humid, warm air makes contact with cold ducts. A dehumidifier can help maintain your home's indoor humidity below or around 50%, minimizing moisture buildup. However, if condensation is caused by leaks, cracks, or other damage, a dehumidifier won’t solve the problem.

Cellulose insulation is usually made from recycled paper products, such as old newspapers, but cellulose might also contain recycled denim. While most homeowners traditionally buy cellulose insulation to use for installation, it is possible to make your own at home with old newspapers, cardboard, a paper shredder, and boric acid (important for fireproofing your cellulose insulation materials).

Don’t install insulation near water heaters, oil burners, or any other object that gets hot. Many insulation materials are fire-resistant, but not entirely fire-proof, so you should take precautions to keep hot things away from fiberglass. This is also why it is imperative to box off lighting fixtures and breaker boxes.
