"When I called they were working in Hitchcock, Tx and Chris, the owner, came by that afternoon and gave me a bid. My wife and I liked him immediately and accepted his offer. "They were there in a timely manner on the day they said they would come. Determined water heater needed to be replaced. Went and got the water heater and installed it. It took a total of about three hours. The price was a little high. $1200 total for water heater and service. He said it was flat fee when I questioned him on this cost. When he talked to me on the phone he quoted $125 an hour. This did not equate to $1200 with the water heater."

"Guy that came out said that it was an issue of the boiler not having enough water. He turned the valve to force water to it and and ended making a mess in my basement floor of black gunk water that I had to clean up. Idk if that was necessarily the issue, he said that’s all it was and nothing else needs to be done. He didn’t provide any type of explanation as to why it wasn’t getting enough water when turned on as this is something that should be self regulated, not something I should have to monitor anytime I turn my heat on. I won’t even necessarily know if this is the case and it’s fixed until fall rolls around again and we need heat, as it is now warming up. I hope that he was correct but quite pessimistic, and felt that a more thorough check should of been done."

"Well, the first time the replacement was ordered it was the wrong one, which of course, delayed the installation a week. When it was finally installed I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades. This I was not informed of by Home Shield. Then we noticed that there was water on the garage floor and found that the pipe coming in from the wall was leaking at the wall so had to call the plumbing company back out to fix it. They first tried to say it was not their fault but since there wasn't a leak before they installed they did fix it. I have used Home Shield a few times before and never had a problem. Some of the companies they use are not the best so you have to research them before you commit. I have found HS service to be good if you do your homework. At the end of the day I was without hot water for almost 3 weeks but it was do to the plumbing company they sent out."
