Exterior paint finishes come in a variety of options, but for concrete, your best bet is to go with an eggshell, satin, or semi-gloss latex paint. All three options are more durable than matte finishes and should help hide imperfections on your home’s concrete surface.

Concrete stain is usually better than dye for longevity because it is more durable and shows less wear and tear. While stain is not as saturated as dye, it gives you more control over the final look of the concrete countertops.

Instead of just busting out the paint, you should clean the surface and fix any impurities before grabbing the brush. Using a paint sprayer to apply sealant and primer will ensure you have the perfect canvas to apply your chosen paint color.
