"I highly recommend George for any work you need done. I had a bathroom that needed to be gutted down to the studs because of preexisting termite damage. Once the demo was completed, I decided to change the footprint of the bathroom and also raise the ceiling and that was no problem for him to handle. He completed the majority of the work himself and managed any necessary subs so I didn't have to. He was very meticulous and clean and did a beautiful job."

"I really liked them.  They were really quick to getting out here and they did a good job.  There was a lot of digging going on.  They did it in a heartbeat.  I saw their truck out there and there were not many people in there.  I asked them if they do plumbing work and they agreed.  I asked them for their cards.  I did not know anybody else then.  They fixed everything for us and we did not have any problems because we had a lot of company during the wedding.  It was a problem that lasted for a long time and if it had to happen it would have when we had that many people around.  They got it fixed.  It was fixed first time and it was fixed right.  There were people going to the rest room constantly and there was no problem.  I would use them in the future."

Basement Waterproofing questions, answered by experts

Roughing in and connecting utilities are the hardest parts of finishing a basement, and they’re the parts we typically don’t recommend doing as a DIY project. Unfortunately, your finishing timeline can be extended by weeks while you wait for contractors and inspectors to install electrical wiring, plumbing lines, and heating/cooling equipment and carry out inspections.

Whether to waterproof your basement from the interior or exterior depends on several factors, including your budget.

Exterior waterproofing is generally considered the superior method because it stops water at the source, preventing it from seeping into and damaging your basement walls. This approach offers the most protection, making it ideal if you use your basement for storage.

By contrast, interior waterproofing is often less expensive and requires less labor because the area is more accessible.

For maximum protection against water leakage and moisture, applying waterproofing measures to both the inside and outside is the best solution. However, if you must choose only one, stopping water from the outside is the most effective approach to preserve your foundation and prevent damage.

If you set up a dehumidifier, it will usually dry out your wet crawl space within 12 to 24 hours. Once the space is dry, it’s a good idea to take preventative measures to keep it dry. These include installing a French drain or other exterior foundation drainage system, installing a sump pump in the crawl space, and installing a vapor barrier in addition to leaving the dehumidifier running.

In nearly all cases, you are required to install a vapor barrier in your crawl space. However, local regulations will change based on the local climate and the crawl space's susceptibility to moisture. Even if a vapor barrier is not legally required, it is often a good idea to keep your crawl space dry.

To ensure your basement walls are waterproof, it's crucial to address any existing moisture issues before finishing. Inspect for signs of water seepage, such as dampness or discoloration, and repair any leaks or cracks. Install a vapor barrier to prevent moisture from penetrating the walls, and consider waterproofing paints or coatings.

Proper drainage systems, such as interior or exterior waterproofing, can also be beneficial.
