"Jeff showed up to provide our estimate and was ready and willing to start the job immediately. His prices are extremely competitive, and he did a great job in trimming our tree as well as the clean up. Jeff is very nice, professional, and a pleasure to do business with. "We called Precision excavation in hopes to get our 5 acres cleared and graded before having a new fence put in, Daniel the owner was amazing to work with, he gave us fast responses, came out the next day for a free estimate, and really took care of and listened to what or view was for our yard. He was so informative and let us know exactly what we needed to get our yard looking amazing! Not only did he complete the tasks we were looking for but also helped us drill holes for new fencing to be put in, Thank you so much to Daniel and Precision Excavating for giving our home a new beautiful look and keeping us under our budget on the project we highly value your business and will recommend all to use your services!"

"It was a pleasure doing business with Joshua. He is a true professional. Of all of the contractors that I have worked with in the last 6 months he definitely has the best communication skills. He listens well and he explains his process well. I never had to wonder if he was going to show up for the appointment times. If there was a delay, he contacted me to explain. I expanded the project with him when I saw the quality of work and the quality of him as a business man. My back yard looks wonderful and he referred me to other contractors that have been trust worthy as well. I highly recommend Joshua for dirt work or anything else that you would like done."

Excavating questions, answered by experts

Excavations take a few days or up to a few weeks. The time it takes to excavate an area depends on the size of the area, the type of soil, the type of excavator, and even the time of year, since winter can make digging up the ground more difficult.

Maintain open communication and address issues as they arise, ensuring contract terms cover potential delays.

If you have a broken sprinkler pipe underground, there will be some signs you can easily spot to locate it and take action. These include leaks, water spouts, flooding, consistently damp areas on your lawn, low water pressure, and grass around the sprinkler head that’s taller and darker than anywhere else in the yard.

If there are no obvious signs of a broken pipe, you can use tools such as water leak mics, leak noise loggers, audio devices that record leaks, and acoustic testing links.

Broken pipes can lead to uneven watering, plant damage, and higher utility bills. The longer you wait to fix them the more the repair cost may be.

Slab foundations are more affordable than crawl spaces because they require minimal excavation, as the slab sits directly on the ground or on footers that only sink a few feet into the ground. Crawl spaces require excavation of the entire footprint of the home to several feet below the surface. Not only does that mean higher labor costs, but more materials are necessary for the concrete foundation walls.

How deep your septic system needs to be into the ground depends on several factors. In extremely cold environments, the tank needs to rest below the maximum frost line, which can be up to six or eight feet deep. The standard burying depth for most systems is between a few inches and four feet below ground level. Depth can also depend on the slope of the landscaping and other property variables.
