"Rob was very communicative during the whole process. They came and removed a weed/bush that had overgrown my fence and electrical box in less than 30 minutes. Highly recommend."

"Munoz was hired to trim 4 large oak trees in my yard. Munoz & crew showed up on time with all necessary tools in good working order, including rope rigging equipment to perform the job safely & professionally. Munoz communicated well to ensure all tree trimming was done per my satisfaction. Also the guys trimming the large live oaks have good work experience knowing how the trees should look so there was very little direction needed. Munoz and his work crew follow safe work practices utilizing ropes and safety harnesses, and communicate well to prevent accidents. This is the second time I have contracted this crew as they have done an excellent job both times leaving my trees looking great and my yard completely cleaned."

"The outcome far exceeded our expectations! Mr. Rickelfsen was the only person out of a half dozen that we called, that ever called us back, including some on Angie's List. The crew was courteous and professional and we would definitely hire again."

Brush Chipping questions, answered by experts

An herbicide with glyphosate, imazapyr, or triclopyr kills ivy the fastest. Herbicides inhibit photosynthesis and cell division. They kill the roots and prevent ivy from regrowing. You should apply herbicide to the cut stems and roots of ivy. You can also spray herbicide on the leaves of ivy, but be sure not to spray nearby trees and plants as it can cause them harm.

If you have a large area of brush and vegetation to clear, forestry mulching may be the best option. This method works well for relatively flat areas that don’t have many large rocks or mature trees to clear. Forestry mulching is a relatively quick process that improves soil health, reduces fire risk, and leaves behind usable mulch.

We always recommend wearing a protective mask when blowing leaves (as well as goggles if possible). Blowing leaves creates a lot of dust, and in many cases that dust contains a bunch of allergens that can make those sensitive very miserable. Even worse, moldy leaves can contain fungi and bacteria that could make humans as animals very sick. Mask up before starting your leaf project, and if anyone is helping you collect the leaves it’s a good idea if they wear a mask, too.

While tipping junk haulers is not required or expected, it is a greatly appreciated gesture for a job well done. Many junk removal companies state that tips are welcome but not mandatory. A good rule of thumb is to tip between 10% and 20% of the total bill, or a flat amount of $10 to $20 per worker. For exceptional service, a tip of $20 to $50 for the entire crew is also appropriate. It is often best to give cash directly to each worker at the end of the job.

Consider tipping if the crew:

  • Goes above and beyond your expectations.

  • Handles heavy, bulky items or navigates difficult spaces like tight hallways or stairs.

  • Works in inclement weather or deals with potentially hazardous materials.

  • Takes extra care to protect your home and property.

  • Accommodates a last-minute scheduling change.

It may sound icky, but yes, urine encourages microbial activity that breaks down organic matter faster. It’s rich in nitrogen, which helps balance carbon-heavy materials like dry leaves or straw. Use sparingly and apply it to a well-balanced pile, not one already high in nitrogen.
