"I highly recommend Big Papi’s Lawn Care! Brian Arellano was incredibly responsive and was able to help me out on very short notice. He did a fantastic job cutting the grass and even went the extra mile by pulling weeds around my pool area. Both my front and back yards look amazing! I really appreciate the attention to detail, great service, and willingness to accommodate me at the last minute. I’ll definitely be using Big Papi’s Lawn Care again!"

"Dependable. And I do excellent work. Besides lawn care I had them trim trees for me and even installed a planter around the tree in my front yard and it looks beautiful."

"I loved the service from here! Tony was sincere and very amiable while we discussed the job and some of the spots around the house that REALLY bothered my wife and I. It was just in need of some TLC after 13 years. He assured me that their wash wouldn’t chip or damage the older painted wood of the house which was a concern of ours. After the job, I can say we’re very happy and proud of our home’s refreshed look. It was like setting the clock back to when we first bought our home. I highly recommend Dobi Pressure Wash if you want a great and affordable way to spruce up your home’s aesthetic and feel good about doing it."

Weed Services questions, answered by experts

There are organic herbicide options that will kill grass but not flowers, including white vinegar or a dish soap solution. Commercial selective herbicides can also target grass over other plants, but read the instructions carefully to avoid damaging your garden. Herbicides that kill grass but not flowers usually include ingredients like clethodim and sethoxydim. Otherwise, your best bet will be to weed by hand.

The hydroseed mix—known as a slurry—helps grass seed take root in many ways. Water combines with the mulch, allowing the grass seed to stay moist while grounded in the soil. The extra fertilizer then provides the boost the seed needs to flourish. In just a few weeks, you'll be ready to break out the lawnmower again.

You should add 1 to 4 inches of mulch, depending on your garden type and needs. Keep in mind that no amount of mulch can completely prevent weeds, but a heavier coverage (closer to 4 inches) can suppress weeds enough that you are only seeing them sprout every few weeks. Finer mulch prevents weeds more effectively than large mulch, so if you’re using mulched leaves or shredded bark, 1 to 2 inches will likely suffice, while 3 to 4 inches is best for larger mulch, like bark chips or straw.

Yes, dandelions are considered perennial, broadleaf weeds.

Like sugar, the common household staple baking soda has uses in the yard. Baking soda boosts your plants to resist pests, fungal growth, and more. So, baking soda is good for your plants in certain instances, but exercise caution, as using too much could kill your plants. It’s great for hunting for pesky weeds, but not great for tending to a sensitive garden.
