"10/10 would recommend this company, Mr Emerson did a wonderful job on some additions to my grooming salon. He was informative, honest and even had some neat ideas to improve it as well! I will definitely be using him on future projects!"

"After searching for months to get a small tile installation I read reviews on Josh. They said he did good work and would take small or large jobs. I contacted him and he responded quickly. I needed 13 tiles replaced after a plumber had to bust up my my kitchen floor for a drainage problem. The tile was discontinued but Josh matched it as well as he could. He stayed late working on it then came back the next morning to finish up. My wife and I are very pleased with the work and with Josh. We highly recommend him."

"I am absolutely thrilled with my solid wood flooring and porcelain tile install to include removal and haul away of existing flooring. Leonard was extremely professional, and personable with great communication skills. He is now my go-to person for any future home repairs or renovations, and I am happy to recommend him to anyone looking for a skilled craftsperson who takes pride in his work. Again - I highly recommend!"

"They were on time did the work in a shorter time than originally stated. The only issue I have is one tile is a bit higher than the rest. There were not hidden costs and my floor is now installed."

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

Poured-in-place terrazzo flooring is more durable than tile. In fact, it’s one of the most durable types of flooring on the market. It can last anywhere from 40 to 100 years, depending on maintenance. On average, you can expect your terrazzo floor to last about 75 years, but you will have to make repairs as needed.

In most cases, carpeting isn’t kind to the wood that it’s attached to. Most carpet installation uses adhesive or nailing strips, both of which will damage wood. Conversely, you can choose to use an adhesive designed to be removed from wood, in which case carpeting can actually protect your hardwood stairs.

When choosing whether to install carpet in your home, consider the pros and cons of this change:

Pros

  • More affordable than laminate flooring

  • Gives the room a warmer feel

  • Softer on feet

  • Wide variety of textures and colors

  • Hides dirt easily

  • Faster and easier to install

Cons

  • Shows wear and tear more quickly than laminate flooring

  • Shows stains

  • Soaks up liquids

  • May not work well in some areas, such as a bathroom

  • Less durable than laminate flooring

  • Susceptible to water damage, mold, and mildew

Installing carpet over carpet may affect the warranty of the new carpet. Check with the manufacturer or retailer regarding their warranty policies. Many warranties stipulate specific installation guidelines, and installing carpet over carpet may not comply with these requirements. Voiding the warranty due to improper installation methods can leave you without help in case of issues or defects with the new carpet.

Because concrete is porous, installing flooring directly onto the surface is not a good idea. Any moisture within the concrete due to atmospheric conditions or seasonal humidity can seep into your flooring, causing warping or damage. In most cases, you’ll need to install at least a moisture barrier between the concrete and the flooring you choose.
