At the time of installation I would have rated this much higher. Mr. Grumbles was extremely prompt in coming to make an offer and his work crew were on time and did the job quickly. The roof looked fine after completion. Our dissatisfaction came much later. About 2 1/2 years after installation we needed to have the roof gutters repaired and the contractor explained that the fascia board and a plywood sheet under the new shingles was soft and rotting, and that it should have been replaced at the time the shingles were replaced. We called Mr. Grumbles several times to ask him to come and inspect the problem area, always receiving his answering machine. Today he finally phoned and, in an irate voice, told my wife that he "was fed up with our bothering him" with the phone calls and that he was too busy with "important jobs" elsewhere. When it was explained what the gutter installers said, he responded that "I'm the expert here and you aren't." It was a disrespectful and angry Mr. Grumbles who finally said he would come and look at the problem area next week. It was implied that any work that he might agree to do would be at our extra expense. If you only want a new roof quickly installed and don't mind this kind of follow up later, this might be the right company to contact.

Replaced entire roof shingles, removed two obsolete wind turbines and installed plywood over holes, replaced flashing, reinstalled some gutter screens, removed all old roofing and thoroughly cleaned up afterwards. The workers and owner were very friendly and approachable. The bill stuck to the estimate. Good job done well.

Called for an estimate on installing extra wind turbines on my two story. He came out the next day and gave me the estimate and told me when he could get to it. He was here earlier than he originally stated but this was perfectly fine with me! He did a fine job and was very reasonably priced!

They were on time and very fast with the work, as well as cleaning up afterwards and making sure everything was what we wanted and that we were happy.

Contacted grumbles this morning and they came out and gave me a free estimate. We agreed on a price. One hour later they were back working on my roof in the rain. An hour later it was done. They even found some minor damage from a tree limb and fixed that as well! Great service! Friendly, fast! Would highly recommend them!

The work went well. Mr. Grumbles gave the estimate of the work and price a few days before. His crew was here around the time they said and worked quietly. They were professional and friendly.

I had used this contractor once before, for a small job, and was impressed with the work. I called him back for this larger project. He came out the same day and inspected the roof and quoted me the above price. This is a large and quot;Mansardand quot; type roof with large vertical surfaces front and back, making it a more difficult job. On the appointed day for the work, his crew arrived on time and went directly to work. During the process of removing the old roofing material, extensive rotted wood was discovered under the shingles and around window frames - the source of several leaks. His crew replaced the rotted wood and installed new window trim on the dormers. On the single-story side of the house, they found leaks and more rotted wood along the channel, which they repaired. They installed all new metal flashing and divided the large 2-story side with more metal trim, separating that side of the roof into 3 distinct roofs. All this additional, unexpected work caused the job to run into a 4th day. The additional work did not increase the invoiced amount - the $6900 I paid for the job was the amount quoted before the work commenced.
This contractor and his entire crew were professional, friendly, and quite accomplished in the roofing trade. The additional work and the difficulties encountered working on vertical second-story surfaces, and working around the chimney in tight and quot;valleysand quot; presented challenges requiring some innovative procedures; they were inventive enough to find solutions to complete the job. They cleaned all debris and removed all nails from the yard before they left. I would enthusiastically recommend Albert Grumbles Roofing Co. to anyone needing that service.

He did a great job of coming out when he said he would. He was on time and very considerate. He looked at the problems I had and called me with an honest opinion on what needed to be repaired. I was very impressed with his knowledge and concern for my problems. I am waiting to see which direction to go but I will not hesitate to call him back for repairs or a new roof.

The crew arrived at my house exactly when they were scheduled. They started work promptly, replacing all the old roofing material. They cleaned up the old material as they worked so that when they drove the last nail, the job was done. They were courteous, professional, and efficient, and the price was reasonable.

They seemed very professional, and they did the work in a timely, fast manner. Most importantly, their work was well done.
