"Kove Pool Service provided an outstanding experience from start to finish. The pool technician arrived on time, was professional, knowledgeable, and clearly explained the service being performed. The work was thorough, efficient, and completed with great attention to detail. It is difficult to find a reliable pool service company that delivers exactly what you expect, but Kove Pool Service did just that. I highly recommend them for dependable pool cleaning, maintenance, and service."

"The NTXPool store have always taken awesome care of all our needs. From the beginning of our purchase they made sure I was aware of what I was buying and what I needed. They were on time when they say they are coming. Always answered back when I had questions or needed a tech to come out. All the boys that have come out to my house for a service call have been very nice and personable. Always have fixed what was needed to be done. Very professional. I highly recommend NTXPool store."

Pool and Spa Servicing questions, answered by experts

When your hot tub is not in use, you can keep it at a constant soaking temperature of around 100 degrees Fahrenheit. For extended periods of non-use, you can lower the temperature by about five degrees. This slight decrease makes it easier and quicker to heat back up to a desirable level when you're ready to use it again. Additionally, you might consider lowering the temperature by a couple of degrees during the summer to avoid feeling overheated.

In most cases, it is safe to clean a hot tub with vinegar. You will want to verify that your hot tub manufacturer lists vinegar as a safe cleaning product; however, given that vinegar is chemical-free, cleans, deodorizes, and is safe for people and pets, it is usually a good option. You can use vinegar to clean the hot tub shell, interior and exterior spa surfaces, hot tub jets, hot tub filter, and other parts. It is considered a strong, safe, and natural cleanser that can kill bacteria, remove mold and mildew spores, erase water spots, and remove hard water stains.

If water is left inside the hot tub pump over a cold winter, it could freeze and severely damage the pump, water lines, and jets. That can cause leaks, which require very expensive repairs. Freezing or leftover water can stain and damage the hot tub shell, which leads to replacement. Even in mild climates, leaving sitting water in the tub or pipes for a long period of unuse is a bad idea, since disinfecting chemicals fade and the water can develop bacteria, algae, and other big headaches when it’s time to use the tub again.

You should put chlorine in your hot tub on a regular basis. To keep bacteria away, keep the chlorine level in your hot tub at between 3-5 mg/l, which may mean you need to add chlorine daily or at least every two to three days. Don’t add chlorine to your hot tub water more than once per day.

Most hot tub motors can last between five and 10 years; however, hot tub motors can burn out sooner if the hot tub water is not maintained or if the motors themselves are not maintained or protected from the elements. Since hot tub motors (also referred to as spa pumps) power the jets and circulate the water, they are important for the functioning of your spa. Buying a quality motor, keeping the hot tub filter clean, and keeping the wet end of the motor wet and the dry end dry can help them last longer.
