"Outstanding service. I contacted Paul to get an estimate to scrape our ceilings (had outdated popcorn), and then we had to go out of town unexpectedly. I had emailed him photos of the rooms and my measurements of square footage. I called him on our way back, on a Tuesday, to confirm the job and gave him a $100 deposit over the phone. On Wednesday his subcontractor, Ruben, called me and set up for Thursday, and by that evening they were done, all popcorn gone and everything cleaned up. I emailed him a photo of a check for the balance and that was it. The simplest process of any home repair we have ever had done. "

It can be safe to live in a house with asbestos as long as the asbestos-containing materials are in good condition and not disturbed. Asbestos is only dangerous when it becomes airborne, which happens if the material is damaged, crumbling, or disturbed during renovation work. The EPA broadly defines hazardous waste as any waste that could pose a danger to humans or the environment. Epoxying over asbestos tiles is generally considered a safe option when done correctly. Epoxy acts as a sealant, encapsulating the asbestos tiles and preventing the release of asbestos fibers into the air. The key is ensuring that the asbestos tiles are in good condition, firmly adhered to the substrate, and not damaged or deteriorating. This method is only appropriate for tiles that are undamaged and securely in place. If the asbestos tiles are already loose, damaged, or deteriorating, encapsulating them with epoxy may not be a sufficient solution, as it might not address the potential for ongoing asbestos exposure.

Although the use of asbestos has declined since the 1980s, it remains in several different types of building construction materials for insulation and as a fire retardant. Typically, asbestos can be found in materials such as ceiling and floor tiles, heat-resistant fabrics and coatings, and roof shingles. You may also find asbestos in textured paint and patching compounds.
