Lubbock Appliance Repair is here to SAVE YOUR APPLIANCE! The owner/operator, Michael Moore, is a Texas Tech graduate with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Have your appliance fixed by a true professional! We try our best to have the part your appliance needs ON HAND! Our service charge includes the trip out to your home and as much time as is required to diagnose the problem. Once we have a definitive diagnosis we inform you of the repair cost using our flat rate pricing guide. We offer a full 1-YEAR parts and labor guarantee! If for any reason our repair fails within one year, we come out and do the repair again for free or apply the cost of the original repair towards repairing the underlying problem. Some exclusions apply such as damage from rodents, pests, and misuse. We use flat rate pricing for several reasons: 1. You know EXACTLY how much the repair will cost meaning there are no surprises and you can make an INFORMED decision to repair or replace 2. The price does not change if it takes longer than usual to complete a repair 3. Repairs are priced using industry standard rates, which we then discount

"Repairman first diagnosed bad bearings & seal - then it changed to bad bearings & bad drive shaft - then added corroded water hoses that was actually causing the leak but recommended we replace the bad bearings & driveshaft as they weren’t going to last much longer. Estimate was $400 for a $1,000 6 yr old Kenmore washer so my husband ok’d the repair but within just a few minutes my husband text me the washer was no longer repairable as the “professional repairman broke something from the very beginning .. all this transpired within minutes of his arrival - told my husband not many repairmen would’ve attempted this type of repair (which he didn’t Mention until after he broke it when all it actually needed were new hoses- paid the $92 service fee & he told my husband if we bought a new washer from them, they would apply the service fee we paid to it, pick up the broken washer (that he broke) & install it for free - He shouldn’t have charged the fee to begin with since he broke it - was not going to give them anymore of my money nor would I ever recommend them or use them again - I chose them because of their good reviews on Angie’s List"

A gas furnace is more energy-efficient and works better in colder climates. It’s often a bit less expensive to operate. Electric furnaces are cheaper upfront, easier to maintain, and perform better in warmer temperatures. While both furnace options have their pros and cons, the right furnace will depend on your needs.

When replacing an old unit, you might want to switch from a gas water heater to an electric water heater or vice versa. To do this, you will likely need to add infrastructure to the area. For example, you likely don’t have a gas line that served your old electric water heater. You’d have to call a plumber to put in a new gas line. If you’re replacing a gas unit with an electric one, the plumber will need to safely cap the old gas line. You will then need an electrician to add wiring for the new electric unit.

Most appliance retailers have dedicated installation teams that can tackle the delivery and installation process simultaneously. Unfortunately, just because a retailer sells a specific appliance brand doesn’t mean that its installation technicians are certified by that manufacturer to complete the installation. You could end up with a voided warranty if the installer isn't certified, costing more money down the road. It’s best to find an installer that is certified by your appliance manufacturer, even if it means paying more or dealing with potential scheduling conflicts.

Appliance installation costs around $200 on average, and most installations total between $75 and $600. Some cost factors to consider that can increase your price toward the higher end of that range include the following:

  • You need to pay for long-distance delivery.

  • Your installers need to maneuver up or down stairs or around tight corners.

  • Your appliance needs to be connected to a natural gas line or water line.

  • Your appliance requires extra parts for a proper connection, like an ice maker hook-up kit.

  • Your appliance is oversized.

The cost of home appliances ranges from $350 to $8,000 or more, depending on the brand, type of appliance, and features. Additional cost factors include any hookups that need to be installed, such as gas, plumbing, or electrical. Keep in mind that major appliances, such as refrigerators, washers and dryers, and water heaters, will cost more than minor appliances, such as microwaves, due to the size, complexity, and essential nature of the item.
