"The freeze in 2021 flooded my kitchen area like so many other people. It seemed impossible to find a good contractor until I met Del Mar. They sat with me and listened to me. They drew my dream and then showed me what is possible. They managed the different subcontractors and the end results were beautiful. I love my kitchen and will recommend Del Mar Home and Remodeling to my family and friends. They are timely, follow up and communicate in a professional manner. God Bless Them!!!"

"They constructed a 15 foot by 23 foot deck with railings and a roof. Flooring and roof suppots were pressure treated wood. Work was excellent and they stayed on the job until it was finished. Just took them 3 1/2 days with a half day off due to rain. I would hire them again as they not only do carpets but also carpentar, remodling, additions, etc. Price was very reasonable."

"I was contacted within an hour of filling out the form requiring tile repair. They came and was able to do the work next day. The tile person that is employed by this company did an excellent job. We had many chipped and broken tiles on the front patio and sidewalk. I would recommend this company and have made arrangements to see samples of laminate to have installed by the owner Mr. Zavala. This is to be installed in our living room. He was very knowledgeable and stated what we want was no problem. He has installed hardwood and now laminate for many years."

Floor Sanding questions, answered by experts

Yes, new home construction will always require building permits, no matter where you live. In most cases, you’ll need a general construction permit, along with plumbing and electrical permits for the utility lines in your home. Depending on where you live, you’ll likely find that you also need permits for things like connection to a sewage system or installing exterior components, like decks, driveways, patios, and curb cutouts. Leave navigating the permits required for new home construction to a professional to ensure your home is built legally and safely.

When planning for land survey costs, you should consider the following elements as major contributors to the overall cost:

  • Size of your property in terms of acres or square feet

  • Complexity of the terrain in terms of hills, elevation changes, rocks, water, and other features

  • Type of survey you need (boundary survey, topographic survey, or a combination of survey types)

  • Distance traveled for the professional surveyor

If you or your mortgage lender think your land survey needs to be more accurate, double-check the survey report and get at least a second opinion from the original surveyor and an inspector, if possible. Although it’s unlikely, even reputable surveying companies can make mistakes. An inaccurate survey can cause problems down the road in the case of any property line disputes, so it’s best to resolve any inaccuracies as quickly as possible.

A boundary survey measures the boundary lines of the property, only the length of each property line and their locations. A land survey includes a more in-depth measurement of the property, including the heights and depths of the terrain measured by a topographic survey. A boundary survey is typically the most cost-effective method for marking and measuring property lines.

If a buyer pays for a survey, the surveyor they hired will only provide results to them. It’s up to the buyer whether they share the survey results with the seller or not, even if they ultimately walk away from the deal. It’s considered good faith to share the results with the seller, though, especially if you back out of the deal, as the seller can then provide that survey to future interested parties.
