"We just had our new Moisture Shield composite deck installed by The Deck & Patio Company and couldn’t be more pleased! From start to finish, this company is five star. From working with the Sales Rep, Tom, to the Project Manager, Martin, the owner, Jed and installers Jimmy and Pedro, these guys are all perfectionists and know what they’re doing. They tore out our existing deck that was only 7 years old, already rotting and a liability to walk on. They had to start from scratch to rebuild our 455 sq. ft. deck. The installers cleaned up every day before they left and never left anything laying around the yard. They worked hard every day for 14 days and worked in everything from 83 degree weather to temps in the low 40’s (this is Texas, after all ?). These gentlemen cared about their work and it showed in their craftmanship and attention to detail. We highly recommend The Deck & Patio Company for your outdoor needs. They are a well-oiled machine and the entire process was smooth and painless. We would hire them again for future projects."

"After having three contractors come out to give an estimate on our project...one was WAY OVERPRICED and the other two never replied back with an estimate. We then notified E & A Cortez Construction. How refreshing!!! An honest contractor that stays on the job until completed. Very fair pricing for what we needed done. Emilio contacted us the very next day to set up an appointment, to give us a free estimate to repair a wooden cedar post that was load bearing on our back patio (that is screened). The bottom of the post had wood rot! On Friday, Emilio came out and looked at the project we needed completed, and gave us an estimate while he was here. He sent us a contract for the work. He said he would be out in three days (Monday) and would probably finish the next day. He would match the paints on the porch and paint it as well. He did exactly what he said he would do!!! The new cedar post looks awesome. The porch screens were put back...intact! He actually did a couple other fixes w"

"Ramirez and his team did an awesome job at our house! We wanted to add wood look tile to our kitchen island and in the center wall of our dining room. The end result could not be greater! Not only did they do a great job, but Ramirez went with us to pick the material and helped us stick within our budget, while getting high quality material that was very much to our liking. We will definitely use them again! Special shout-out to Luis and Hugo! These guys were super nice to work with and did an awesome job in our house. We have already posted pictures and all our family is in love with the tilework. THANK YOU GUYS!!!"

"The total relandscapoing of our backyard was made so much easier by the professionalism of the Steven's team From owner's Steven Ricklefsen's vision, economic suggestions and flexibility to the precision work done by Angel and his team this conversion of our yard to synthetic turf was fun to watch. After the work is done there is still followup by Steveen to insure everything is fine and working as designed. I highly recommend considering Steven's landscaping for yard landscaping projects Jim Williams"

While the terms deck and porch are often used interchangeably, they are two distinct home features. Porches offer a roof that protects from the elements when coming and going from the house. Generally, porches are on the front of your home. On the other hand, decks are generally built in the backyard of a home and offer no roof or protection from the elements, like rain or snow. Porches typically require less maintenance and upkeep thanks to the roof, but both features require regular cleaning and repairs to maintain good condition.
It might seem counterintuitive, but the best time to install a paver patio is during late fall to winter. The cold and wet weather of those seasons can help your patio installer perfect the foundation for your patio. Plus, you'll likely be able to find better sales and deals during the colder months when patio installation business is typically slower. Consult a local patio paver professional to determine the best time to install based on your area’s climate.
The cost to build a deck is $8,025 on average. However, this cost can range anywhere from $1,500 to $22,000, depending on multiple factors, such as size, materials, and deck type. You can expect to pay $30 to $60 per square foot when building a new deck.
Cedar decks are often the most cost-effective option, ranging from $4 to $9 per square foot for materials. However, pressure-treated decking, which is resistant to rot, is more expensive, ranging from $15 to $25 per square foot for materials.
A paver patio can last anywhere from 20 to 100 years, depending on the type of pavers and how well you maintain them.
Travertine pavers are usually the most durable, lasting 100 years or more, with regular maintenance. Concrete brick pavers have a variety of shapes and colors available and typically last 25 to 50 years. Traditional brick pavers have a more classic look, lasting around 20 years with proper maintenance.
The cost of a paver patio is $3,800 for a 280-square-foot patio on average. Depending on the patio size, paver material, and design complexity, this cost can range from $2,400 to $7,000 or more.
The size of your patio is a significant factor in the project’s overall cost. If you're building a smaller patio of only 60 square feet, your costs will be closer to $480 to $1,500. If you want a more luxurious 900-square-foot patio, you'll spend closer to $7,200 to $22,500.
