Let me start off by saying that I was "That Guy" that needed a miracle. We have been remodeling our house and have done a lot of projects ourselves. We were in the middle of this project when all of a sudden my wife finds a house and we put money down. Our timeline was very short. We had 2 days to get our house ready. J&D Woodwork were 3 of 18 (and I am not exaggerating ) companies that even called me back. 1 was very slow to respond to me, and one wouldn't answer calls (would only text. Very unprofessional) David and his team were in one day and started the very next day. He was booked out, but was able to move some things around, and knock out the project. They say you cant have a good price, quality work, and fast all at the same time. These guys proved that to be wrong. I got all of it! In our new home we will be putting in pergola and will be using J&D Woodwork. We will refer them out to everyone that we can. I promise, you will not regret hiring these guys! I can't say it enough!

Contractor worked with us on details of the contract. Doing what seemed fair to everyone was refreshing. They worked hard at what they did and didn't promise anything they weren't willing to do. I have a high regard for their work ethic. Work was done well.

David and his father, Jose, were outstanding! They arrived on time, were exceptionally professional and I couldn’t be happier with the end result. There were no surprises, explaining every step of what they were doing and answering any question I had. I would (and likely will) use J&D Woodwork again without a doubt!

David was extremely professional, did a fantastic job and delivered exactly what I requested, and at a fair price. I searched for a while to find a craftsman like David and I would highly recommend his services.

The contractor never came out to give me a quote, and did not call to explain why he never showed up. I would not recommend this company.

The finished cabinet is beautiful! It takes wasted space and makes it useful as well as attractive. It really enhances my living room. J&D came out to measure and got me a drawing and estimate promptly. I liked the fact that they used plywood, not MDF, for the sides and genuine wood for the doors. After I selected them to do the work they took time to make sure we were on the same page for the design, even stopping by an additional time with a door sample to make sure it was going to turn out the way I wanted. I wanted the cabinet painted, not stained, and their painters did a fantastic job. Everyone working in my house took a lot of care to make sure the house was clean when they left and the furniture was back in the right spot.

Phenomenal, could not have asked for a better experience. From start to finish David kept us informed, explaining the process, listening to our needs and vision. Highly recommend and would use again as our first choice.

David and his father are true professionals and craftsmen! The gates look like they belonged in our home all along! An absolute perfect match!! Their attention to detail is impeccable! We were always in contact and if there were any delays, David informed me. They gave us everything we had hoped for and more. The “more” being that they made them automatic/soft-closing by putting a storm door hinge thing on them so our toddler could use them and the gates would quietly close behind him preventing younger siblings from following. Genius! They are not cheap, but these men know their worth, and these gates were worth every penny we paid! I gave a B for punctuality because I would get a time, or window, of arrival, and they were usually about 20 min or so late, but since I don’t work, it was no big deal. I have no problem waiting on greatness, but wanted to leave an accurate review. If you’re looking for woodworkers, look no further!!

Mr. Vasquez came to the house for an estimate. He sat down with us & asked for as many details as possible. He gently offered advise when we were unsure of an answer. He got us an estimate in a very timely manner. We had 2 other contractors come out for an estimate. J & D was not the cheapest, nor the most expensive. We did feel that the price was a little steep at the time. (the end result went above & beyond the price) When we decided to go with them, he stayed in contact with me & came to the sight daily. During the construction, I decided to add crown molding & other detail molding on the walls, as well as painting. Mr. Vasquez did not blink an eye, he graciously called in his painter & completed the request. The project took less than a week to complete (even with the add on's). My house was cleaner when they left than when they arrived. The completed shelves look as if they were constructed with the house. The gutters were a must with the rain & elevation of the new built house. The price was slightly lower than other bids we had gotten. My husband said his only regret was that we didn't find J & D before we built our house, that we would have had them build the entire house. I simply could not be more please with the outcome. Every employee was incredibly nice, and professional. The cabinet doors on the book shelves were custom made & the detail is flawless. I honestly can not say enough about this company. It was worth every single penny, and then some! We will be using them again for other projects around the house. I know I will not be disappointed.

It all went very smoothly. They delivered and everyone happy. They built and painted them at their shop and just came by to install them

The cedar mantle was for the inside fire place so I could put family pictures and decorations on it, came out great! I asked David see if they could sand it down some, make it less rustic and they did. Even though its cedar it feels rather soft to the touch :) 
And the corbels were for the front porch to give it more of a cabin look to the outside of the house. They did a good job. I want to get some cedar beams done in master bedroom so I'll be calling them then.

I love the pergola and the gorgeous cedar that was used! Almost didn't want to stain it afterwards! I had no issue with David, everything he told me they were going to do they went ahead and did it exactly how it was planned. The price was average but a little on the higher side. It was well worth it though.

A good investment and a very well done job. If you need any arbor done call them, you will not regret it.

I hired them to build me a cedar awning on the back patio door. They did a real nice job. I had an idea of how I wanted it and they delivered 100%! Usually I don't do reviews like these but they do deserve it. They stained the awning and also installed the shingles to match my home.

Could not be happier with the result. Very friendly individuals and professionals as well as a competitive price!

They were a bit busy when I called so it took them a while to do the project but the wait was well worth it and within 3 days they were completely done.

Took me a while to find a company that I felt I could trust until I found J&D Custom Build Cedar. These guys take their time to work the cedar and make sure it's perfect as seen through their work in the cedar columns and the column corbels! I  would definitely recommend them to friends and family alike. 

Superb quality and customer satisfaction.

It was a pretty big project as they had to remove some recessed can lights in order to install the semi solid cedar beams evenly across the living room ceiling and had to patch- up the wholes that were left and paint it back up. They hired some licences electricians to do the electrical work and install the new fan and recessed can lights. Also sub contracted someone else to stain the beams.

Everyone did a great job! It was a messy project but when they were done it seemed like nothing ever happened. The beams look amazing so do the new lights and fan in both living room and master bedroom. They did take a few days longer than expected but it may have been due to the sub contractors. Nothing really to worry about tho, since it all was done diligently and very professional!

I've got a few more projects and I'll be giving them a call for sure! :)

Amazing job! I love their corbel design! It's rusting, elegant and very well produced. Their cedar is routed on the edges and sanded down some without taking too much off. It was a clean in and out job, they definitely have experience and know what they're doing.

Well after the huge flooding in our area we were desperately looking for a general contractor to help us re-build and remodel our home. A friend of ours refereed us to J&D Custom Build Cedar & Design. At first I didn't think they did remodeling until they explained to us that in fact do commercial and residential remodeling. 

After taking a few quotes from them and other companies we ended up choosing them. They were very friendly and professional. They demolished the rotten baseboard, Sheetrock and the floor and started to lay the new product. It was a big project so I know ahead of time that it would take time, however they finished around the time they had estimated, so I was glad about that. They hired their electrical guys to change the power outlets and make sure the wiring was still up to code. After that was finished they painted the walls and the baseboard finishing with the floor. 

Was very satisfied with their work, and will more than likely call them again if needed!

The quality of the work is great! Just what I expected and nothing less! I have hired them for smaller jobs before for some corbels outside of my home and was really impressed with their work.
The 6"x12"x7' cedar mantle they used was rough cedar with lots of knots just as I had asked. It gives it that rustic yet elegant look! I love it!. 
They're friendly and polite people who take seriously their job and like their job description says; they strive to keep the highest quality!

The job was done fantastically, very professional. We couldn't have been more pleased with their superb quality.

As the pergola was getting built we had to do a few minor changes to it. They were very courteous about the changes and agreed to them. One of my pet peeves is when people don't clean after they are done, however that was not the case with them. After they had finished the job, they picked everything up and left it as it was before. 
Have 0 complains about them and will likely call them again for future projects!
