"Scott Stock was responsible for building all new drawers and building and installing all new doors on our cabinets. Scott was extremely reliable, honest and kept us up to date on each part of the project. We are very pleased as our home looks like we have new custom cabinets in every room. "I requested DJ cabinets to review my cabinet plans for suggestions and quote. I met Don at his shop and he reviewed my plans, offered suggestions, price point options, showed me the projects they were currently working on. Items that were standard in his build however increased price in the other bids I got were the slow close components and the solid frame of the box part of the cabinet. Don explained the different wood options that would most likely meet my hopeful outcome ( clean lines and continuous wood grains) Don gave me a quote and a expected install date. He met both of those. DJ custom cabinets kept me informed thru the build process, asking and confirming questions., The cabinets were beautiful Don and his install crew take great pride in every aspect of the cabinet build, they appreciate a happy customer and it tells as they truly are a joy to work with and produce a fantastic cabinet for a very competitive price. It's been great to see how proud a contractor is of his workmanship and makes me feel we made a great decision using DJs Custom Cabinets."

Customers say: Quality work

"I contracted with Curtis Kuhn to create a built-in library and office out of red oak in a room in my house.  The room is approximately 13 ? square with 10? ceilings that slant down to 8? on one end.  I wanted the cases to be floor to ceiling on 2 adjacent walls which
created a bit of a design challenge where the ceiling height transitioned in the corner. Curtis met the challenge beautifully.  I also wanted a small fireplace in the corner and although Curtis had never done this before, he worked with the fireplace retailer, Hearth House, to understand the requirements for the fireplace and with the plumber, Tim Darnell Plumbing, to accommodate the gas
installation.  The corner with the fireplace turned out to be excellent both in craftsmanship and in looks.  This was a long term project and Curtis worked with me on every step to insure that I was getting exactly what I wanted.  The office portion has 2 file
drawers; a cabinet with pullouts to accommodate a large shredder, a printer and a scanner,  a cabinet with glass doors for my electronics such as a dvd player, cable box, etc.; and a pull out for my laptop or a keyboard.  Above the desk is installed a wall mounted TV that can be used as computer monitor or a TV.  The bottom cabinets are wider than the upper shelves, so Curtis had another challenge in installing the library ladder so that it would clear the bottom cabinets and could still be properly ?stored? when not in use.  Once again Curtis met the challenge with a beautiful solution that is both functional and esthetically pleasing.
Curtis created the pieces in his workshop and then transported them to my home and installed them, making sure that everything fit
exactly as he went along.  I went on a six week trip in the middle of this project and Curtis and his wife Mary continued the work in my absence.  We communicated by e-mail during my absence and I returned to find a beautiful, completed library and office.  Curtis is meticulous in his attention to details and not only is everything well built but all the finishing details have been taken care of.  I could not be happier.
If you are wanting quick, cheap work, then Curtis is not your man; but if you are willing to take the time for quality and pay a little
more, then you could not do better than Curtis.

Small jobs welcome

"We are very pleased with the work Jason did in our kitchen! He took 20+ year-old cabinets and made them look brand new. He did a great job with painting our cabinets inside and out, leveling our 2-tiered island to be one level, installed the backsplash and installed all new hardware. He worked efficiently and we are so pleased with the end result. We will utilize his services again in the future!"

Cabinet Contractors questions, answered by experts

There’s no strict rule about which way cabinet doors should open, but generally, double cabinet doors should open away from each other. With single doors, you want to avoid having them block your path or swing into  areas where people need to stand. Some kitchens are angled so that cabinet doors may crash into something no matter which way they swing, but the methods above can help prevent damage.

In a kitchen installation, starting with the foundation and structural elements before moving on to the finishing touches is essential. Framing, plumbing, and utilities should go first, followed by cabinetry and countertops, then plumbing fixtures and new appliances. Flooring, paint, tile backsplashes, and similar finishing touches should get installed last.

Not exactly. While this is a fairly straightforward task to handle without professional assistance, it’s not one that you can do completely on your own. You’ll need a strong person to hold the bathroom vanity level and in place while you screw it into the wall. It’s heavy, so you want to ensure you have help installing it.

Solid wood is the most common material for cabinet bases. It’s a popular choice because it’s durable and will hold up over time. Oak, maple, cherry, hickory, and pine are all types of solid wood that can be used to build cabinet bases. Other options include plywood, medium-density fiberboard, and other types of manufactured lumber, but they need to be sealed properly to avoid swelling, separating, and delamination from moisture.

While a three-inch center-to-center handle is common, there’s no guarantee that sizing will be the same for every cabinet. Different types of handles have different sized holes to attach them and there are lots of different cabinet handle widths and styles. You should measure to be sure you know the size of a handle and to avoid surprises.
