"Richard called the same day I requested. We set an appointment for the following morning. He came in, did the job, explained what and why he did it, and my drain was unclogged. His quote to do the job was $115 less that another quote. Great value, price, speed, and service. btw he brought along his wife, as a bonus on the side she gave me some great perma-culture tips. Would definitely use again."

"I needed 38 feet of wood fence with a vehicle gate and a pedestrian gate to replace the old fencing that was falling down. The work was done quickly and correctly. Such a relatively small job can sometimes not get the attention that a high dollar, week long job gets. That did not happen here. My new section of fence is better than I anticipated. If I need more outdoor projects done, I will not hesitate to call Williams again."

Masonry questions, answered by experts

If you want to make your home eco-friendly, enjoy low maintenance, and love the fact that its looks will take people’s breath away (and not because they were trying to blow your house down), then a modern brick home is right for you. You can hire a mason to get the building process started for your brick home.

But if you’re not fond of the color and don’t want to deal with the process of repointing or other repairs, consider going with vinyl or wood. These materials offer a lower cost. While they tend to require more maintenance, they don’t cost nearly the same as exterior brick house repair.

Modern brick homes have a brick facade over standard framing and sheathing, so the brick offers minimal added structural stability. A home with traditional brick construction is more durable than a stick-built home, as the double-layer brick walls and rebar resist higher lateral wind loads and support heavier loads up top, as well.

Choosing the right paint color for your brick house can be a daunting task. A great strategy is to find painted brick houses that you like and try to replicate the look by researching their colors or asking the homeowners for the specific paint color code.

If you're looking for specific ideas, several colors work well on brick. Different shades of white, such as off-white or cream-white, can create a modern, timeless, and classic look that is unlikely to go out of style. For a more contemporary aesthetic, you might consider a matte black tone. Other popular choices include gray, blue, and sage green.

Masonry work tends to be more expensive because the materials can be costly, such as natural stone and brick. Masonry is also very labor intensive, typically making up 50% or more of the final project cost. In addition, quality masonry work requires years of training and experience, as with any skilled trade.

Yes, you can technically use a pressure washer to remove paint from brick, but it comes with a significant risk of damaging the brick surface. A high-power pressure washer can be fast but may leave the brick looking unsightly. The recommended method is to first apply a chemical paint stripper, following the product's instructions, and then use a stiff metal bristle brush or a pressure washer on a low-pressure setting to remove the loosened paint. Due to the risk of damage, it is often best to hire a professional who can use low-stress methods.
