"Teyo and his crew came out to do a drywall install for our vaulted living room ceiling. When his crew arrived they went above and beyond helping us remove the old drywall and moving it to a place we could easily haul it away. Teyo even offered to texture the front entry way walls and ceiling so it would match the ceiling in the living room free of charge. We are doing a full house remodel so it was super helpful keeping us on schedule. I would definitely recommend Teyo for any of your drywall needs!"

"We had a great experience with this drywall repair company. The owner, Trent, and Alan were both extremely professional and took the time to explain the entire process and what to expect. What really stood out was how much care they took to protect our home—they covered everything to keep the space clean while they worked. The finished result was incredible. You honestly can’t tell there was ever any damage there in the first place. The wall looks completely seamless, like the repair never even happened. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing drywall work."

"D-R Drywall did a great job with our ceiling work. They took the time to drape and tape the area to minimize the impact upon the rest of the house. We truly appreciated that. They were professional, efficient, and did quality work. They were nice people as well. We are glad we hired them."

"Fantastic drywall work on our new baby room. Minor issues as they rushed some of the work they did on the second day that I ended up fixing. However, solid work and I fixed the issue myself without even pointing it out to them."

"True professionals! Posted on HomeAdvisor around 9 pm. Was contacted first thing the following morning. Mr. Salinas was out to my house about 2 hours later, made a quick assessment and gave me a quote. Scheduled the repairs for the following morning. Team showed up on time, introduced themselves, and then took a look at the work area. Doing a ceiling drywall repair above the kitchen island. The area to be repaired was about 5'x4'. They took the utmost care to cover the floors with tarps and hang plastic sheeting throughout the kitchen area. They replaced the drywall to perfection...true artists at drywall. Then applied texture to match the rest of the ceiling and painted. They asked after each step for me to check it and made sure it met my expectations. Excellent work, that exceeded expectations, and at a very fair price. Highly recommend and will definitely utilized their services in the future!"

Drywall questions, answered by experts

You should wait at least 24 hours for drywall mud to dry before sanding or applying another coat. However, the exact drying time depends on several factors, including the thickness of the application, room temperature, humidity, and the type of compound used. Thicker layers, or projects in high humidity, may require 48 hours or more. Lightweight compounds tend to dry faster than heavier, all-purpose ones. You'll know the mud is ready when it feels completely dry and firm to the touch and has changed to a consistent light color. Sanding too early can cause smudging or gouges, so patience is essential for a smooth finish.

When choosing materials for finishing basement walls, consider factors such as moisture resistance, durability, and fire resistance. Opt for materials specifically designed for basement environments, like moisture-resistant drywall or cement board. Insulation with vapor barriers can help regulate temperature and prevent condensation. Consider using mold-resistant paints or coatings.

Research and consult with experts to select materials that are suitable for your specific basement conditions and intended use. Prioritize quality and compatibility to achieve long-lasting and aesthetically pleasing results.

Yes, even if you’re being careful, removing tile can damage your drywall to some degree. However, you can minimize the damage done to it by eliminating a majority of the grout and taking your time prying each tile off. Also, it's worth noting that you might have more drywall damages to deal with if your tile is set into the mortar.

Although they have similar applications, spackle and joint compound are not the same. Their primary differences lie in their composition, consistency, and ideal use cases.

Spackle is composed of gypsum and binding agents, making it thicker than joint compound. It dries quickly and is easy to sand, which makes it ideal for small wall repair projects like filling nail holes or patching minor damage.

Joint compound, also known as drywall mud, consists of limestone and gypsum. It is primarily used for large-scale projects, such as taping and finishing the seams on newly installed drywall. It tends to shrink more than spackle and can be more difficult to spread.

While both products can be used to fill small depressions and cracks, spackle cannot replace joint compound for taping and mudding new drywall. Conversely, you can often use joint compound for small patching jobs typically done with spackle.

Costs range from $500 to $5,000, depending on damage size, labor, and finishing requirements.
