"They were prompt, kept everything clean and didn t rip me off, but instead advised me why a Tankless Electric Water Heater wasn t a good idea for my needs and they cost more. I m very happy with their Plumbers and honesty."

"They responded and got me on the schedule quickly. I had a troublesome clogged up kitchen sink that I had been working on for a week straight. Michael located the source of the problem out in a drain line in my yard. There were loads of grease chunks, a hole where dirt was getting in, and the pipe was sloping up instead of down. He replaced the drain pipe and relocated it so that it would drain appropriately into the septic. Problem solved! My sink has never drained so fast since moving in a couple years ago. Hardworking and great customer service, including clean up after. I appreciate what they did for me. Was glad to find a good service company that was local."

"Quoted a price of $150 to unclog a toilet. When job took less than 2 minutes adjusted charge to $100. The flyer they gave me advertising their service indicate a $99 charge for drain clean/main sewer line clean. What's with all the different pricing?"

Sewer Cleaning FAQs, answered by experts

That pungent rotten egg smell coming from your drain is likely the buildup of biofilm—hair, skin, and soap scum that turns into a black sticky mess. In this case, pouring down near-boiling water, baking soda, and white vinegar will remove the smell. Keep in mind that a rotten egg smell is occasionally a sign of larger sewage line clogs and other related issues.

Main sewer lines can clog for several reasons. For example, if you regularly dump oil or grease down your drain, it could eventually block your line. Sometimes, tree roots can penetrate and grow inside old sewer pipes, creating a major blockage. Flushing bulky items (like paper towels, diapers, or baby wipes) can also clog your plumbing system.

Yes, sewage smells can originate from a floor drain. If the P-Trap in the floor drain dries out or if there's a clog or other issue in the plumbing system, sewer gasses can escape through the drain, causing nasty odors. Regularly pouring water into the drain helps maintain the water seal and prevent those smells, but if the smell persists, you should have a plumbing professional inspect the drain for potential problems.

The type of clog in your sewer main determines the required cleaning method. Different types or methods of sewer main cleaning require various tools like chemicals, mechanical removal, or a combination of both. Some of the most common types of sewer main line cleaning include:

  • Minor debris removal: $100–$600

  • Tree root removal: $100–$1,000

  • Trenchless pipe repair: $60–$250 per linear foot

  • General line repairs: $1,000–$4,000

  • Full pipe replacement: $3,000–$25,000

Even with a high-resolution camera, what you're looking at on the screen may not be recognizable to the untrained eye. Your plumber should be willing to walk you through the video and explain what they found. With high-res images, bright lighting, and self-leveling technology, you should get clear, steady views of the pipes that make up your plumbing system.
