When their installer arrived to begin putting down the floor, he discovered the slab wasn't level at all and needed to be floated. Greg Zwernemann, the owner, was here at the house within 15 minutes. He said this happens perhaps once in every hundred jobs. They HAD to fix the wavy slab - can't put a new floor on an uneven surface. It took 70 bags of self-leveling concrete. Greg gave me a break on the cost. He said he wasn't making any profit on this part of the job. I want to point out that, although the total cost was quite high, their charges for installation were extremely reasonable. Most of the cost was because I chose to install walnut flooring, which is among the most expensive on the market. Then, when I was moving in, the movers caused a significant amount of damage to MY BRAND NEW FLOOR. They dragged furniture instead of carrying it. The moving company tried every which way to weasel out of accepting responsibility. Greg interceded on my behalf and got them to make it right. The repair work was done so well you would never even guess the floor had been damaged. Another thing they did was send Hugo to put down a few tiles that were needed when I pulled some cabinets in order to have a gas range installed in place of an electric cooktop. Hugo was here for maybe 15 minutes. Perfect tile installation. Gosh, he's good! I'm contemplating a bathroom remodel and if that comes to pass I will specify Hugo from Zwernemann for the tile work.

They get straight A's. On 07/27/13 my son went to the store to buy seven concrete splash blocks, thinking he could just pick them up. Well, no, they didn't have any. He placed an order for the blocks and was told the store would call when they arrived. I waited and waited, then I waited some more. Home Depot never called so three months later, on 10/25/13, I phoned the store. I was told the order had been closed out because the blocks had been picked up, presumably by me. No, I hadn't picked them up. Went round and round and eventually the order was placed again. Turned out it had been closed out because the blocks hadn't been picked up. Okay, so much for that. Yesterday, 11/15/13, the store called and said the blocks were in and Jeremy would load them into my car for me. I went to pick up the blocks. An amazing lady named Candice helped me out. She went to track down Jeremy to bring the blocks. I waited and waited, then I waited some more. When Jeremy showed up he had not seven, but five blocks. Seems two of the blocks had been taken all the way to the other end of store and put in the block department. Candice and Jeremy had no idea why. Anyway, Candice sent Jeremy off to retrieve the missing blocks. I waited and waited, then I waited some more. Finally, lo and behold, here comes Jeremy! Hey Jeremy, how ya' doin'? He was carrying one block, another fellow had the other one. They loaded them into my car and I was on my way! Candice, you did a great job! Thank you! Jeremy, you're a fun good-natured guy. Thank you also! All's well that ends well.

After speaking with other homeowners that have contracted with other pool contractors and observing the work of other pool contractors I am very happy we contracted with Mobley Pools. One homeowner who contracted with another company for a very elaborate and expensive pool described how their pool, which is less than 1 year old has a crack up the middle of the pool and is leaking. Another homeowner contracted with another pool contractor had their pool dug incorrectly (too shallow at one end and too deep at the other end). Mobley pool is the only pool contractor in the area that has his own crew for doing the digging, plumbing and electrical. All other local pool contractors appear to hire sub-contractors out of Houston for the digging, plumbing and electrical. We contracted with Mobley Pool Company to build our 18' X 36' (4' to 7' deep) with slide on April 2, 2010. Work began on April 20, 2010 and we began swimming on May 20, 2010. All work was done professionally. All workers involved seemed to take pride in their work. Mr. Mobley and his crew delivered exactly what we requested in minimum time. The city inspector was able to tell the pool was a Mobley Pool even though there was no Mobley Pool Sign posted in the front yard. When I asked about that he stated it was because of the steel (rebar) work. He went on to say that Mr. Mobley is the only pool builder that uses as much steel as he uses. Mobley Pool Company pools are priced slightly higher than his competitors, but I feel this is because of the amount of steel used in pool construction and the quality of the concrete used for pool decking. As a side note: The number of cubic yards of concrete required for the pool decking was underestimated resulting in a total additional cost of $1800 for concrete decking. Mr. Mobley asked that I pay half of the additional cost. I agreed to pay an additional $900, which I did. Slide did not appear to be installed properly. The reason I say this is that none of the joints that are supposed to be smooth do not appear to be properly aligned. Mobley Pool Company has sent out their expert in slide installation to try to repair it, but the joints remain misaligned. Perhaps there is a problem with this particular make and model slide (Interfab-XStream). Mobley Pool sent their technician out several times to correct the problem. As I said before there may be a problem with the slide design. ***UPDATE ON SLIDE*** 06/11/2013: Problems with Pool Slide continue. I noticed that the pool slide had water leaking out the bottom of it. Upon checking it out the slide I noted that the slide was more misaligned and that there was a large gap on the bottom of the slide where the seat portion meets the first flume had a large gap. I decided that I needed to tighten the bolts on the slide as directed in the owner’s manual. I began by tightening the bolts on the legs. Several of these bolts were seized. Upon tightening the nuts on the bolts where the seat and first flume meet one bolt pulled the embedded nut from the seat portion of the slide. I attempted to reinstall it as I believed the reason it pulled out was because I had tightened it too tightly. I was unable to reinstall and resorted to sending an e-mail and photographs to InterFab to see if they had a fix for my problem. Because I did not want the children trying to use the slide we took it down. In preparing to complete the repair that I was expecting from InterFab I removed slide handles. To my surprise I found that the steps where the handles go through were broken from what I must assume is over tightening. I also noted that the bolts holding the mounting foot for the ladder were installed at an angle. They should have been totally vertical as demonstrated in the InterFab on-line video. Bottom line is I do not believe the slide was installed properly in the first place. It was brought to our house fully assembled.The installation instructions and on-line video clearly indicate that it is to be assembled on site by at least 2 workers. Without seeing the slide in the unassembled state I have no idea of whether it was assembled correctly or of knowing the condition of all of the parts before assembly. I might add here that none of the protective caps designed to fit over exposed bolts were included or installed on the slide. I do know that the instructions in the owner's manual and that I viewed on the Inter-Fab web site clearly state that once the slide is set into place that the position of the deck mounting holes are to be marked on the deck and that once marked the slide is to be moved to the side so that the holes for the mounting bolts can be drilled vertically. Although the holes for the 2 vertical mounting posts are vertical, the mounting bolts for the foot of the ladder are all at an angle indicating that the holes were drilled with the slide in place. I believe this possibly may have caused extra tension on the slide joints causing them to fail prematurely. 6/14/2013: After exchanging e-mails and photographs with Inter-Fab regarding our X-Stream Slide the manufacturer has informed me that they will be sending the repair parts to us free of charge. What a refreshing development to find a manufacturer that stands behind their product. I would recommend purchase of this companies products 100%. I am more than satisfied with their response to my inquiry."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/tx/bryan/mobley-pool-co-reviews-6174037.htm"},"position":5},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"SANCHEZ CONATRUCTION","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"TX","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Jane T."},"reviewBody":"After the work was all done, a lattice sheet blew off in the wind because it had never been nailed down. After we agreed to his estimate, he scheduled a start date. He was delayed a couple of times due to rain and truck problems, but the fence was completed in a timely manner. The fence, itself, is beautiful, and we are very pleased with it. However, the workers were sloppy with the concrete when setting the posts. There was dried concrete and rocks well outside the area of the posts. They were careless with our flagstone hardscape, broke several pieces and left dirt and rocks on top of some of it. Some pieces were dug up, and they did not reset those. They made some effort to clean up, but it was not satisfactory. We called for them to return to do more cleanup, which they did. There was some improvement, but we would like for it to have been better. At that point, we gave up and decided to do it ourselves. Overall, we are very pleased with the fence but felt we had to mark Dominion down a bit because of the nonsatisfactory clean-up and the damage to our flagstone.

They are relatively new, and I took a chance. I regret that I did. Pool is in and functioning, but the concrete deck is unlevel, they didn't accomodate for drainage on the lower level deck(which was discussed in much depth), and the auto-fill is inoperative. Actually, when the auto-fill is running it leaks in two places. One spot is located at the auto-fill portion sunk in the concrete and another is located in the coping surrounding the pool. I've attempted to rectify the problem numerous times, but apparently after they received the final check they were done with us. Hard to believe someone starting out would conduct business in this fashion. Randy Norwood,proprietor of Aqua-tech Pools had the potential to be a fabulous pool builder. He falls short on the final details and problem solving aspects of the job. He's new to the pool business, and on more than one occasion he gave us answers that I found out were untrue when I conducted my own research. Truly a shame."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/tx/college-station/the-everything-backyard-store-reviews-3243554.htm"},"position":10}]}

Concrete Driveways questions, answered by experts
It’s possible to pour concrete if the temperatures are expected to dip below freezing at night, but you need to take some special precautions before you do. Most importantly, you need to make sure your concrete won’t freeze, so the best thing to do is enclose the area and heat it. You should also make sure you’re using cold-weather concrete that’s designed for pouring in cold weather. Use accelerants to help speed up the curing process and avoid cold temperatures from resulting in weak concrete.
Most of the time, you or your contractor will spray the concrete form and framework with a release agent or oil to prevent sticking. This is common practice with wood and steel forms. For insulated concrete forms, the styrofoam formwork often remains in place after construction, so you don’t need to treat it beforehand. Foam concrete forms made out of melamine also may not need treatment beforehand, as the material naturally won’t stick to the concrete after it’s cured.
Concrete log siding is not the same as fiber cement siding. Fiber cement siding is made from a mixture of cement and cellulose fibers, while GFRC is made from cement, glass fibers, and polymers. The materials are similar in their durability, longevity, and curb appeal, and the main difference is that concrete log siding is available in more styles that resemble traditional log siding. Fiber cement is also less expensive, with materials costing around half what you’d pay for concrete log siding.
Yes. A septic tank riser is meant to replace a septic tank cover—concrete, metal, fiberglass, or otherwise—while still allowing easy access to the opening of the tank. Just as you would need to be mindful of the septic tank lid when it comes to mowing the lawn or other yard usage, you’ll have to be cautious not to damage or otherwise disrupt the septic tank riser.
A concrete driveway lasts between 25 and 30 years on average, and that's only with proper maintenance. The longevity of a concrete driveway also depends on the method and quality of installation, as well as your local climate. If your driveway gets a lot of wear and tear from several vehicles—especially heavy ones like trucks and RVs—your driveway will last less than the typical 25- to 30-year lifespan.
