The work was scheduled on a Friday. Several workers arrived early and were well into their work by the time I arrived. They were all extremely polite and cheerful. It was a HUGE job. Due to telephone wires etc they could not use a bucket truck to get to the top of this tree so one of the guys put on spikes and ropes and took tower of ivy down piece by piece. He said he had worked on trees covered with Ivy but none so overtaken as this one. He did an amazing job! The other guys chipped all the branches and the trunk and left the chips at my request. This process took the better part of the day. When the tree was down 2 guys ground up the stump which was a job in itself as area right around the tree had been used as a dumping ground and at that point there were many feed of debris around the tree. They pulled out box springs and a metal swing set etc. These guys did a tremendous job that was not at all easy. While the stump was being ground up 2 other guys trimmed and shaped the bottle brush tree in the front of the house. Once they started shaping it they realized how much of the interior of the tree branches were dead. Because of this, again, their work was more involved than expected. They did a wonderful job and went beyond the call of duty. I left before they were finished. When I returned the next day the tree looked beautiful and all the area around it was cleaned up. Through out the whole process they kept checking in with me to make sure I was happy with everything. They were in good spirits the whole time. At one point a car blocked their access to my backyard gate by a few inches. I could not find the owner of the car and so they removed the hinges from the gate to allow for more space for their vehicle making an akward turn. At the end of the day (of course just as the car owner arrives to move it) they put the gate back on the hinges. I cannot say enough how much I appreciate the work they did. I would highly recommend the Kelly Stump crew to anyone with trees that need to be pruned or removed."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/ca/sunnyvale/kelly%E2%80%99s-stump-removal-inc-reviews-148934.htm"},"position":3},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"Schaa's Lawnmowers Sales & Service Inc","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"TX","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"BETH W."},"reviewBody":"Prior to this I had never owned a weedwacker. The customer service at Schaa's was superb! I told them I had never owned a weedwacker before and didn't know how to add more string when this one ran out. They were to wash all the facia before they started painting. After being on the property for less than two hours they tried to tell us they had finished washing. It was clear to see that they had not done 90% of my house. They did not have a ladder, their high pressure sprayer ran out of gas after the two hours they spent trying to clean it and they did not have any gas with them. Again they were late the next day and they still did not finish the cleaning. On day three, they arrived on time and started painting but due to weather they left learly. The cleaning was not completed as is evident by them painting over mud houses from wasps and the honey combs homes that some wasps make. They still did not have a ladder to reach the peak of the second story which also means it was not cleaned. I also told them I did not want it spray painted. The owner assured me that while one guy was spraying the paint, another would be right behind him with a brush making it all even doing what he called a back brush. It is clear to see that they did not do a back brush at all. Some areas the paint is so thick that after only two days you can see the cracks. You can also see the lines where the paint gun was not spraying evenly and the paint is VERY thin. I also told him I did not want the brick painted and to protect my gardens. They assured me they are professionals and I had nothing to worry about. The job was supposed to cost $4200 and he asked for a deposit of $1000 and we paid it. Then in the middle of the job, he came back on Monday and asked for another $1000 to pay a creditor that he said called him and told him he was about to be 30 days overdue. Now we knew this was bad but we were already in it. On Tuesday I told him that I was unavailable to inspect the job until Saturday when I would make good on the balance due since they were not done yet. That Tuesday evening, the owner waited in our neighborhood for my wife to drive by and he followed her home and blocked her and my children in the garage and said he was not leaving until he got his money. I was not available to look at the house in the sun light, so of the $2200 balance he got $1400 to make him leave my property. My wife called me and she was frightened. I called the owner and told him I told his crew and foreman that I would inspect the job on Saturday morning and if everything was good, I would give him the balance due. That is when we paid him the $1400 to leave and a balance of $800 would be paid on Saturday. Friday, he again laid in wait for my family to drive home and he ambushed them at my home. This time when I called him I told him to leave my home and I would deal with him on Saturday after I had a chance to look at the house in the sunlight. My wife did call the Police this time, they called him and told him to stay away from my house or he would be arrested. Saturday I was able to look at the job they did and it was terrible. Shingles were painted white and then repainted black, not their original color. Brick was painted at nearly every corner. Gutters that were supposed to be painted were left undone. No back-brushing was done at all. Where the paint went on real thick it was already cracking after one week. You can see where it is very thin because the dirt is visable. My green gardens are now VERY speckled with white paint. Over spray covers my pool equipment. The patio furniture they moved was not returned to its original position. It was all moved several yards away. When they cleaned their equipment, they left paint spots all over my yard when I gave instructions as to where they could clean their equipment at. When I talked to the owner at the beginning of this job, he told me no one was more of a stickler than he was for doing a job right, getting the cleanup done, and followup with a customer. He told me that they get their business from word of mouth because they don't advertise so they always do a good job. Every word that came out of his mouth was a lie. They did not back brush like he told me they would, they did not clean up the brick like he told me they would, they did not keep their clean up spots to the one place I told them to, they did not do the caulking like they said they would, and they did not do the professional job like I was promised. I could have gotten a better job from the local high school and probably at a lot less money. I would not recommend these guys or this company to paint a single, flat wall."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/ar/texarkana/rrs-restoration-and-remediation-specialists-reviews-5713950.htm"},"position":6}]}

FAQs for glass block service projects in Lubbock, TX
Maintains privacy while letting light into the bathroom
Energy efficient
Sealed to prevent drafts
Aesthetically pleasing
Strong and secure
Cons
Costly to install
Challenging installation
Challenging repair
Glass block installation can be relatively expensive due to the range of material costs and the labor time to assemble this type of specialty window. The process proceeds slowly as the glass does not absorb moisture from mortar and silicone caulk takes longer to harden, leaving spacers to hold up the structure until the caulk or mortar begins to cure. Plus, if your current windows have structural issues or damage, you’ll need to repair them before beginning the project, increasing your bottom line.
The average cost to install glass block windows is about $710, ranging from $460 to $1,000, depending on the size and design of the window, installation type, and location.
Different styles of glass blocks also impact the cost:
Clear glass blocks: $10–$30 per block
Colored glass blocks: $25–$40 per block
Acrylic glass blocks: $15–$25 per block
Wavy glass blocks: $10–$30 per block
Alpha glass blocks: $15–$25 per block
Ice glass blocks: $20–$35 per block
Diamond glass blocks: $20–$75 per block
Frosted glass blocks: $30–$35 per block
Typically, glass block windows last about 15 to 30 years, slightly less than regular windows, which last 20 to 50 years. Resealing glass blocks can help extend the lifespan of this bathroom feature. The key to ensuring that glass block windows last as long as possible is to have a professional glass block installer place them. Glass block pros will have the skills, tools, and knowledge required to install these special features into any space, noting obstacles like damaged windows or too-cramped areas during the consultation.
Luckily, glass block windows need minimal maintenance. Other than regular cleaning, the only maintenance involved in having a glass block window is inspecting for cracks every year and applying sealer to the mortar joints if the blocks are set in masonry mortar. Glass block windows hold up well against wind and moisture better than traditional windows and are not prone to rot.
