The office staff seems accommodating but in reality they just relay messages and don't necessarily follow through. I have an old T12 flourescent fixture where the ballast needed replacing which is in an awkward position in the attic. On Friday, the electrician told me that as of July 2012 they will no longer make bulbs for this fixture. The question was do I fix this or just get new lighting. The electrician quoted me a price of $187 to fix but said he did not have the ballast and would have to come back. He charged me $20.00 for the visit. I asked him to quote me on some newer fixtures, ones that would not be obsolete since he did not have the ballast. Then we could decide what would be more cost efficient based on the four quotes he was going to provide me with. He knew that was my only light in the bathroom and said he would have the quotes on Monday. Monday came and went, I called the office on Tuesday. The office was accommodating and said he would get back to me that day. Tuesday came and went. I called again and was told he was working on the quotes and I asked if I could have them via email so I could make a quick decision and get the job done since I was without lighting in that bathroom. I called again on Friday and was told the electrician would call when he was done with his last job. He called around 6pm a week later with some info. He gave me a verbal quote of $187 to fix the obsolete fixture and gave me a verbal quote of $340 for a T8 which is about to become obsolete in a year and the newer fixtures which are energy efficient he said he could not quote because he could not find my size but would continue looking. At this point, he should have declined the job since he knew he did not want it. Two weeks later, I have heard nothing and no call back. I called another electrical contractor who asked me what kind of fixture, said he would find the ballast and be here the next morning to fix so that I would at least have lights in that bathroom. And he came the next morining and in twenty minutes I had light and at 1/3 of the quoted price by Mike's! I am across the valley from McAllen , near SPI, maybe Mike's is better at serving the McAllen area. I don't think they wanted the job and should not have taken my $20.00 knowing they weren't going to do the job. The $20.00 fee is for people who waste their time. In this instance I paid them to waste my time. Shame on you."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/tx/pharr/mighty-mike%27s-plumbing%2C-electrical-and-hvac-reviews-390240.htm"},"position":10}]}

"In late July, I hired JNR Landscaping through Angie s List for backyard upgrades. After providing pictures and discussing the project, I paid a deposit. Initially, work progressed smoothly as they cleared the area, laid tarp, and added gravel. However, the gravel was not the light color we had requested. I offered to cover the cost for an additional layer of white stone. The pavers were also poorly installed, loose, and not packed with sand. I met with the contractor, Ross, in late August to address these issues. We discussed changes, including larger pavers and the white stone layer. After a lengthy and productive meeting, Ross assured me he would send a revised estimate, but I didn t hear back by September 6. I followed up with Ross and I was sent directly to voicemail. I received a cryptic text that read forwarded info to my dad. He will be in contact with you Since I had never spoken or had any dealings with his dad, I was not quite sure what this was about. Ross s father called me with an extremely hostile attitude, accusing me of leaving his son in the car and berating me for no apparent reason. He was verbally aggressive, unprofessional, and even threatened to tarnish my reputation if I complained. Ultimately this project was done poorly and it is still incomplete. I have been verbally abused and threatened by the owners of this company and I still need to complete this project. I am now seeking a refund for 100 pavers ($1,200), the spray ($120), and an additional $1,780 to cover labor costs I will incur to hire a new contractor, totaling $3,000."

FAQs for exterior lighting service projects in Los Fresnos, TX
Low-voltage landscape lighting costs about $120 per fixture to install. You may need to install a 12-volt transformer, too, to ensure the lighting system runs safely. For a six-fixture low-voltage landscape lighting setup, expect to pay around $1,000. A major reason people choose low-voltage landscape lighting is to reduce the risk of shock, making it safer to operate the outdoor lighting system.
Professional landscape lighting is typically worth the investment to improve your home’s curb appeal, safety, and security. Additionally, landscape lighting can add value to your home, creating a brightly-lit outdoor space that you can use after dark. According to the National Association of Realtors, landscaping lighting can add $2,500 to your home’s value. On average, this type of home improvement has a 50% return on investment.
There are tons of different types of landscape lighting available, including the choice between solar and wired, incandescent and LED, and a variety of colors.
Specific types of lighting include:
Pathway lights: $50–$150 per fixture
String lights: $50–$150
Low-voltage lights: $90–$150 per fixture
Porch lights: $65–$250 per fixture
Floodlights: $75–$250 per fixture
Downlights: $100–$400 per fixture
Uplights: $100–$400 per fixture
Security lights: $ 350–$500 per fixture
Lamp posts: $400–$1,100 per lamp post
Landscape lighting costs about $4,000 on average, ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on the amount of lighting, type of lights, and your location. Additional cost factors include any electrical work, excavation and trenching, and the current landscaping that the contractor has to work around. You can expect to pay an average of $100 for pathway and string lighting, and about $700 for lamp post lighting.
The five common types of landscape lighting are up-lighting, down-lighting, spotlights, built-in lighting, and pathway lighting.
Up-lighting casts light upwards from the ground, mostly for aesthetic purposes.
Down-lighting directs light onto the ground, lighting pathways, or outdoor space.
Spotlights cast direct, focused lighting in any direction.
Built-in lighting integrates lighting into an outdoor feature.
