"Great company with excellent technical service providers. They Installed a water filter, 2 tankless hot water heaters, and a generator perfectly. They just cleaned my main drain for A/C. They are prompt, professional and fair. You canâ t go wrong with them."

"I've used this company several times with a 100% success rate. Most recently, they installed the shower fittings and repaired a drain leak. They are punctual, efficient, and cost competitive. They always answer the phone and are quick to get to the jobsite. The work is done correctly and warrantied. I highly recommend."

Small jobs welcome

"Great work. I hired them to do 2 different projects. The first project was to install drains from my gutters under my driveway into the front portion of my yard. After the drains he re-surfaced my driveway with crushed limestone. It looks beautiful and after a few rains, it hardens nearly like concrete. I liked the work so much, I had him back to bring in some dirt and fix an erosion problem behind my house. Highly recommended"

"When my new washer & dryer were delivered & installed a water leak was found & shut off. I was told to call a plumber. C. Woods Company came out, tightened the fittings & didn’t charge me. I was blown away! I’ll call them every time there’s a need! Just, WOW!"

French Drains questions, answered by experts

Yes, pop-up drains commonly get clogged with hair, soap scum, and toothpaste. It is important to know how to properly clean the drain or get professional help to ensure it remains clear and can drain water effectively.

There are a few ways to unclog a toilet without a plunger. Break up the clog with homemade solutions containing soap, vinegar, and baking soda, or simply let hot water spend some time in the drain. You can also use a two-liter soda bottle filled with water to push pressurized water into the pipe to dislodge the debris (see the steps above).

The cost to repair a main sewer line clog is about $3,110 on average. The average cost range is  $1,310 to $4,950, but it can go as low as $215 and as high as $9,300 or more. The cost factors for this repair include the severity of the clog, pipe accessibility, video inspection, removal method, permits, pipe material, labor rates in your area, and time of year. Repairs made from outside during the winter can be more difficult due to the frozen ground or during the spring if the ground is saturated from a lot of rain and snow melt.

Yes—your local septic company can clean your septic leach lines with a sewer jetter, a device that pumps high-pressure water through the lines to blast out any clogs and scum buildup. Unless there’s a clog or blockage in the lines, however, you do not need to perform this maintenance regularly. Do not attempt to clean your own leach lines, as you could easily damage them, leading to very costly repairs.

On average, a plumber will take 30 minutes to two hours to clear a clogged drain. If the clog is located close to the drain or an access point and isn’t severe, the project will take about half an hour. If the clog is deep within your plumbing system or is a severe blockage, it can take two or more hours to remove the clog. For this reason, main line clogs tend to take longer, usually between two and three hours.
