"On time, friendly tech, knowledgeable. I have an older house with susceptible plumbing, Jason got my drain on kitchen sink working and laid out a plan for a long term solution. He also suggested (at my request) a diy solution that could save me money."

"I've used this company several times with a 100% success rate. Most recently, they installed the shower fittings and repaired a drain leak. They are punctual, efficient, and cost competitive. They always answer the phone and are quick to get to the jobsite. The work is done correctly and warrantied. I highly recommend."

Small jobs welcome

"Great work. I hired them to do 2 different projects. The first project was to install drains from my gutters under my driveway into the front portion of my yard. After the drains he re-surfaced my driveway with crushed limestone. It looks beautiful and after a few rains, it hardens nearly like concrete. I liked the work so much, I had him back to bring in some dirt and fix an erosion problem behind my house. Highly recommended"

"When my new washer & dryer were delivered & installed a water leak was found & shut off. I was told to call a plumber. C. Woods Company came out, tightened the fittings & didn’t charge me. I was blown away! I’ll call them every time there’s a need! Just, WOW!"

French Drains questions, answered by experts

Drain pipes carry wastewater from sinks, toilets, showers, and other fixtures to the main sewer line. They’re typically located within the walls and floors and beneath a home’s foundation. Meanwhile, sewer pipes transport collected wastewater to a septic tank or a municipal sewer system.

It is okay to use a drain auger on a toilet, just make sure you are using the correct tip size. The auger is a plumbing snake with a protective sleeve to protect the porcelain toilet bowl from getting scratched. Using too large of an auger can cause the snake to loop back and damage the inside of the drain and plumbing.

Drain clearing removes debris and clogs from drain pipes enough to allow water to drain properly. On the other hand, drain cleaning removes all of the material from the pipe so that water flows unrestricted, which is a longer-term solution. Your plumbing pro will be able to recommend the right service depending on the clog size, frequency of issues, and surrounding pipework.

It is not advisable to use drain cleaner in a washing machine. Drain cleaners contain harsh chemicals that can damage the internal components of your washer, including rubber seals, hoses, and even the drum. These chemicals can also react with any residual detergent or fabric softener, potentially leading to noxious fumes. If your washing machine is experiencing drainage issues, it's best to address the problem directly by inspecting and cleaning the lint filter, checking for clogs in the drain hose, or seeking professional repair services. Using drain cleaner in a washing machine is a risky solution that can cause more harm than good.

In the majority of cases, homeowners insurance will not cover a main sewer line root clog. The reason is that most insurance companies consider tree root damage to sewer lines as common wear and tear, which is also preventable. However, you may be able to buy optional add-on coverage, such as "service line coverage" or "sewer line endorsements," that would protect against root damage to your sewer line.
