Customers say: Quick response

"We were not expecting to actually get service on late Sunday afternoon, but we were contacted right away and service was done quickly and professionally. Turned out the ac unit tripped the breaker as it was low on coolant. I live out of state but called for service for my elderly mother. Was so relieved that she was taken care of right away and not taken advantage of. Honest reliable professional service. Great work and would recommend! Uodate: just wanted to follow up and say that they called my mom the day after the repair just to make sure everything was still working right. Great service and great followup!"

"Frostbite Heating & Air replaced the entire HVAC system in my daughter’s small home last month, and the experience was outstanding. They stuck to the advertised price of $6,500 with no hidden fees, showed up on time, completed the installation in a single day, and left everything spotless. The system works beautifully, and their honesty, professionalism, and kindness gave us total peace of mind. Highly recommend! — A Very Grateful Parent"

"They came in a very, very timely manner. I called and not too much later they were here at the house. They were very professional and explained everything in a very understanding way for me. They were very comforting, because I can be somewhat emotional. Would certainly recommend to anyone who is in need of help with AC/heating."

Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

No. Your furnace does not run your air conditioner. Both units use the same system of ductwork to move conditioned air throughout your home, but you can have a furnace without having an air conditioner and vice versa. Furnaces are only for heating your home. You can buy a system that does both, however, like a split system or a heat pump (yes, heat pumps cool, too).

Yes. It's normal for the AC compressor to cycle on and off intermittently in dry mode as it maintains the desired humidity level. The compressor cycles to prevent over-dehumidification and to maintain a comfortable indoor environment. This cycling behavior ensures efficient operation and optimal humidity control, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the dry mode function in your AC system.

Yesh, heat pumps can easily cool homes when the weather reaches over 100 degrees Fahrenheit, just as powerful air conditioners can. The key is sizing the heat pump correctly for the size of your home and your climate. A local heat  pump professional can help you determine the right size and type for your home.

Yes, you can build a deck over your outdoor HVAC unit, but you need to leave at least 5 feet of vertical clearance above the unit. If you don’t want your deck to be that high off the ground, you could build a floating deck in another part of your yard—again, as long as you leave at least 4 feet of horizontal space between the deck and your AC unit.

No, it’s not normal for AC vents to drip condensation. A sweating AC vent is a sign of something wrong and can lead to issues like air duct rust or mold growth. Your HVAC unit might not be working efficiently because of a dirty filter or clogged ducts. Alternatively, your ductwork might not have adequate insulation, which allows the cool air in the ducts to meet the humid air outside, causing condensation.
