"This was a residential job (updating most of the electrical wiring). Eduardo did a wonderful job adding in extra lights and updating fixtures. The quality of his work is excellent! I would recommend this company to anyone who needs any electrical work to be done."

"My expectations were exceeded. The final project turned out great. It was per plans. They performed a power and lighting installation to a garage/workshop addition I had constructed for my pottery art. They were on time and completed the job on time. They handled a problem I had with the plans right away as to not delay the job. You will be happy with the work and the price. I recommend this company for any electrical service."

"John with Illuminart was a pleasure to deal with. He was prompt with his estimate. He was very competitive. He made several suggestions to keep the price of the project LOW. Most importantly - Illuminart - lived up to their name. The placement of lights gives the house a great street view. And more importantly - the downlights in the trees gives a great picture on the lawn. Absolutely worth every penny spent! Highly recommend and will use Illuminart in the future."

At Element Haus, design begins with intention. We create spaces that feel as good as they look- timeless, personal and refined.\n\nFounded by a team of architects, designers, and craftsmen who share deep passion for modern living, Element Haus was born out of desire to redefine what “home” means. We saw too many houses that looked impressive but lacked soul; and too many custom builds that compromised on design or build quality. So we set out to do it differently: to fuse architecture, interiors and construction into one seamless experience, where design and build are integrated from start.

Lighting questions, answered by experts

There are tons of different types of landscape lighting available, including the choice between solar and wired, incandescent and LED, and a variety of colors. Specific types of lighting include:

  • Pathway lights: $50–$150 per fixture

  • String lights: $50–$150

  • Low-voltage lights: $90–$150 per fixture

  • Porch lights: $65–$250 per fixture

  • Floodlights: $75–$250 per fixture

  • Downlights: $100–$400 per fixture

  • Uplights: $100–$400 per fixture

  • Security lights: $ 350–$500 per fixture

  • Lamp posts: $400–$1,100 per lamp post

Flickering lights, intermittent outages, or physical damage to fixtures signal immediate repair to avoid electrical hazards.

The average cost to install outdoor or landscape lighting is around $4,000, with most projects ranging from $2,000 to $6,000. The total cost can vary widely depending on several factors, including the number of fixtures, design complexity, and the type and quality of the lights used, such as wall sconces, pathway lights, or lamp posts. Other factors that influence the price are the square footage of the area being lit, the amount of electrical work needed, any required excavation or trenching, and local permitting costs. For specific types, you might pay around $100 for pathway or string lighting and up to $700 for lamp post lighting.

There are a number of reasons that landscape lights burn out, including an incorrectly installed transformer, inconsistent voltage, and burned-out or faulty bulbs. Troubleshoot landscape lighting problems by first determining whether it’s a system-wide problem or an issue with just one light, which will help you get to the bottom of your outdoor lighting woes.

Yes, animals can trigger motion-sensor lights. In fact, this is a reason why some homeowners install motion-sensor lights, to catch sneaky little critters looking through the rubbish for a midnight snack. There are sensitivities to animal detection though, so you may want to look for an option that avoids animal detection as much as possible.
