"LeafFilter doesn't clean gutters, they sell and install their LeafFilter Gutter products and only clean the gutters if you buy their product. I can't even begin to afford their product so I wasn't able to get my gutter cleaned by them."

"These guys are really great! From the time I requested an estimate to the time they completed the work, I was extremely satisfied. Rey was the only contractor to come out equipped with an IR camera and a moisture meter to assess the water damage done to our master bedroom and help me decide how to proceed with repairs. He provided an estimate on the spot (another thing none of the other contractors did) and informed me how long the work would take to complete. After interviewing 5 different contractors, we went with Rey and we are so happy we did. When Harvey hit, we sustained water damage to our master bedroom ceiling later found to be caused by a deteriorating and leaking chimney cap. We were told by a chimney company to replace the cap, which we did. To fix the inside damage caused by this leak, we contracted Rey to patch the large hole in our ceiling, re-texture the entire bedroom ceiling, replace the attic access for that area of the home, and replace all the insulation in our attic since much of it had gotten wet. We later found we had a secondary leak of unknown origin. Rey and Danny meticulously searched until they found the cause of the leak, patched it, and told us what we needed to do to permanently repair the leak. Rey informed me that, while he could try to fix the root cause, that was not his area of expertise and he would not be the best person for that job. Honesty is very important to me and Rey telling me that he was not the best person for that particular job, meant a lot to us and showed us he was more concerned about it being fixed correctly as opposed to making money. All the work was done very well and on time, even with the extra work required to locate and patch the secondary leak. Rey and Danny were so committed to getting us back into our bedroom that they were at our house until after 7PM several nights, trying to get us wrapped up. When they were complete, Danny cleaned up the large debris from our bedroom so I could get in there begin my cleaning of the area. Every day, Danny cleaned up the work area as best as possible before leaving and provided a status report of the work completed and the plan for the next day so we knew how things were going. They were also very good about communicating what time they would arrive each day and contacting me if they were going to be delayed for any reason. Some people have commented that Rey is a bit high on his quotes but I believe you get what you pay for in this world. Rey’s work speaks for itself and I would rather pay someone a little more for quality work done correctly the first time, than have inferior work that looks like a DIYer did it. The work Danny and Rey did was outstanding and they will be doing more work for us in the future thanks to their superb quality and workmanship, excellent communication, and honesty."

Cleaning questions, answered by experts

The best thing to clean bathrooms with is an all-purpose cleaner, a mixture of white vinegar and water (50:50 ratio), and a glass cleaner for mirrors and glass surfaces. You can also use baking soda on areas with soap residue or mildew. The best tool to clean a bathroom depends on the specific task, but a sponge and a fresh towel are versatile options.

Following a few basic tips for maintaining your front-load washer can extend your unit’s lifespan.

  • Clean your machine monthly and always use the correct detergent. (If your machine is High-Efficiency, only use HE detergent.)

  • Avoid fabric softener.

  • Leave the washer door open after a cycle to avoid moisture buildup.

  • Remove all of the wet clothes promptly, and wipe down the machine after each use.

  • Conduct an annual inspection yourself or hire someone to check that your machine is in tip-top shape. Proper maintenance means your machine will clean your clothes as best as possible, and you’ll prevent common issues like mold and mildew build-up on the seal or clogged filters from the water inlets.

Yes. Every toaster is bound to accumulate a build-up of crumbs and food particles. If left unattended, these can turn into a fire hazard.

Your schedule for deep cleaning will depend on how often you clean regularly and how dirty your home gets. If you clean weekly and keep things tidy, you may only need to deep clean once a year. But if you don’t keep up with regular cleaning or have pets that drag in mud and shed all over the house, you might need deep cleaning two or three times a year.

Yes, many professional cleaning services include mold and mildew removal using safe, non-toxic solutions.
