"Very professional did amazing work to my detached garage. The roof and sides were done with the sides cut for drywall. I am very pleased with the work and would highly recommend."

"The crew showed up every morning on time. They patched/drywalled and textured numerous small areas. The texturing was so good, that it is almost impossible to detect where the repairs where made. They also framed, drywalled and textured the kitchen area for recessed lighting installation. They repaired an area where there was a shower leak. They replaced the drywall and textured an area where a closet had been removed. On every part of the project, they exhibited superior workmanship. And at the end of every day, they cleaned up after themselves. Hire them again? Definitely yes!

"Joe and the crew were very responsive and also respectful of our time. That came out on a Saturday and finished the job for our 30x30 shop in about 4 hours. Would definitely recommend to anyone for insulation needs. Great price too!"

"I had previously had another company spray foam my attic, about 3 years ago. It looked ok but I was not seeing much improvement in my electric usage. I had an energy audit done and was told that the spray foam job was very substandard. They did not pull back existing insulation around the soffit and the roof insulation was about an inch in some areas. Investofoam came in and spent an entire day redoing the job. My house has 2 x 8 rafters, they filled them and covered exposed edges. The result was amazing. I am seeing about a 40% drop in energy costs. My attic is never more that 5 degrees warmer or colder that the interior. When a cold front would come through this winter and drop the outside temperature 40 degrees it would take a couple of days for the interior to drop 2 or 3 degrees. I have a 2 stage AC / heatpump with variable air handler, it never has run at high speed, you never hear it at all. Also we never hear thunderstorms unless they are extreme. I highly recommend Investofoam!!"

"I received 3 quotes on installing a new 5 ton unit to our house air network was $2,000 cheaper than the # 2 bid and over $3000 cheaper than the other bid. They came when they said and chris was very knowledgeable. We had a new unit installed as well as all new ducting and blown in insulation. I would highly recommend air network in the Weimar area"

Insulation questions, answered by experts

DIY insulation installation is feasible, particularly for basic rolls or batts, if you have the right protective gear and knowledge. However, hiring a professional ensures even, full coverage for maximum efficiency.

Bubble wrap is better for moving since it can be cut to size, whereas dish foam comes in precut sheets that are harder to manipulate. However, if you’re packing items like dishes, wine glasses, picture frames, or mirrors, dish foam will protect them better. Ensure you measure your box beforehand so you know what size dish foam to purchase.

Whether plaster walls should be insulated depends on whether the walls are at particular risk of moisture problems. In many cases, you can insulate plaster walls, while in others, it's a poor decision because of the lack of a vapor barrier. Choose a reputable insulation contractor to help you decide if and how to proceed to increase your home's energy efficiency.

You should not use spray foam insulation in several specific areas. Avoid applying it in spaces exposed to high temperatures, such as near electrical boxes or recessed lighting, unless the foam is specifically rated for such use. Applying foam near electrical boxes can damage the wiring, and using it too close to lightboxes or recessed lights creates a potential fire hazard. Additionally, do not use spray foam in areas prone to shifting or movement, as this can lead to cracks and gaps in the insulation. Finally, open-cell foam is unsuitable for use below ground or in areas exposed to moisture because it can absorb water, which compromises its insulating effectiveness.

Heavily exceeding building code requirements for insulation not only wastes money on materials but can also lead to ventilation and moisture problems. In most cases, the minimum amount of insulation required by code is perfectly adequate.
