"Handyman Carpentry came through for me and my family! Our door was kicked in and I needed to feel safe immediately. Mr. Kevin came through with a fast response, and great work. He kept in contact throughout the entire time! Reasonable and fair pricing. This was an emergency for me and Mr. Kevin and his squad came through. We will definitely be calling on him again for more carpentry and home improvement jobs! Thank you and I pray nothing but growth and success for you and your business!!"

"Dennys Ramirez, owner of Dennys Painting out of Ingram, was absolutely TOO NOTCH!!! His painters were ALWAYS on time. They worked quietly and constantly with only a lunch break. They were very respectful. They were friendly. But best of all, they were fantastic painters! I went from having 2/3 of the inside of my home done to letting Dennys paint my WHOLE HOUSE, inside AND outside!!! It now looks like a brand new home, and I couldn’t be happier. ♥️ This was a GREAT INVESTMENT. Dennys also worked with me to give me the best price he could that I could afford. I HIGHLY recommend DENNYS PAINTING. He also does other remodeling / construction work. Just ask. He does it! THANK YOU, DENNYS!!! I now feel like I have not only a painter, but a friend who truly cared to make my home gorgeous!!! Deidre Redmon"

Cabinet Contractors questions, answered by experts

Refacing costs less than replacing because it uses the existing infrastructure. However, customizations and the quality of materials can still influence the expense.

Yes, stacked cabinets, bulkhead trim, and crown molding are worth it. This look is not only customized and high-end, but you’ll also have the added benefit of extra storage space. And because you don’t need to remove your existing cabinets to achieve this look, you’ll save by not needing to complete a kitchen remodel—which could run between $15,000 and $40,000.

No, and that’s why adding kitchen cabinets to the ceiling is popular! Whether you match the color of your existing cabinets or not, you can still paint your cabinet boxes with them attached to the wall—making this project much less invasive.

In a kitchen installation, starting with the foundation and structural elements before moving on to the finishing touches is essential. Framing, plumbing, and utilities should go first, followed by cabinetry and countertops, then plumbing fixtures and new appliances. Flooring, paint, tile backsplashes, and similar finishing touches should get installed last.

Whether you install flooring before or after kitchen cabinets depends primarily on the type of flooring you are using. For materials like hardwood, tile, and sheet flooring, the best practice is to install the flooring first. This ensures the cabinets are installed at the correct height and on a stable surface. However, you should not install cabinets on top of floating floors, such as laminate or luxury vinyl plank (LVP). These types of flooring need room to expand and contract with temperature and humidity changes. Placing heavy cabinets on top can restrict this movement, potentially causing the floor to buckle and making the cabinets unstable. For floating floors, install the cabinets first and then lay the flooring up to them. Other reasons to consider installing cabinets before the flooring include saving money on materials (since you won't need flooring under the cabinets) and avoiding potential damage to your new floor during cabinet installation. Additionally, installing cabinets directly on the subfloor might prevent voiding your flooring's warranty.
