Small jobs welcome

I am a Handyman / repair consultant. If you have something that needs repaired, call me before getting an expensive plumber, electrician, HVAC tech, etc. I have a lot of experience working with my hands. Grew up having to fix our own things to get by, and eventually got to a point where I do everything myself to make sure it is done right.\n\nThere are repairs that must be performed by a licensed professional. Though I don't have a license for them, I do understand the work, and can help you understand what needs to be done in order to prevent you from being over-sold when they show up. \n\nI have built lots of furniture (IKEA, Amazon, up to custom builds), built and rebuilt picket fences, changed door knobs and locks, installed glass doors, installed smart switches, changed light fixtures and fans, replaced hard wired smoke detectors, some appliance repair, repaired irrigation systems, repaired and replaced toilets and garbage disposals, repaired leaking faucets, changed water heaters.. I could spend all day adding to this list. I've worked on basically everything in some form or fashion. \n\nI learned from people who just wanted things done right, and I carry those same genes. Only repair I do with duct tape is on duct work. I've spent a lot of time helping my neighbors with repairs, and heard stories like plumbers wanting $800 to fix a leaking sink sprayer, or $500 to fix a leaky sink handle. (Those combined repairs used $36 in parts.) HVAC technicians being told to always make sure to change out a part if they go to a call, even if it isn't bad. (big companies)\n\nBefore you drop a lot of money to one of these companies, make sure you aren't getting scammed. Call me, and I can be the middle man to save you money.

"Mr. Ferrell first connected his computer to my computer via internet and worked for quite a few hours trying to determine what exactly was wrong. The next day he continued working from his computer for several hours. He determined he would have to have my desktop tower to complete the repair. He and my son met in Huntsville to exchange the tower. He then cleaned up a lot of what was wrong and reloaded Windows 10. He deleted the D: drive which had way too much memory allotted to it. The tower was returned and I plugged it all back together and it is working better than it did when I first purchased it. I would use him again and I recommend him highly to anyone needing computer updating and/or repair. His work is warrantied and he is very personable, knowledgeable, and helpful."

"First of all Bill's wife Tricia, on the phone assures you that her husband can handle the repair, and sets up a time for him to come and see  the problem that is needing fixed.
Bill comes and evaluates the situation, then tells what might be and what needs to be done, and when he can start.
Bill's son and another worker arrive and tie into the project and replace the tiles.
The next day they come by to grout and finish up.

Screen Repair questions, answered by experts

It is generally recommended to remove window screens for the winter, especially in climates with heavy snow, freezing rain, or frigid temperatures. Removing them helps prevent damage to the screen mesh and frames that can be caused by ice and moisture buildup between the screen and the window. Taking out the screens also allows more natural light and warmth into your home during shorter winter days and makes it easier to clean your windows thoroughly. In warmer climates where harsh weather is not a concern, the decision is more about personal preference; some homeowners prefer the clearer view, while others leave them in for convenience.

Ensures proper fit and function, maximizing insect protection and airflow.

Solar screens use a thick mesh of polyester to block out the UV waves and solar heat. While they are more expensive at about $7.50 per square foot, they can protect your porch or hardwood floors from sun damage and keep the room or porch on the other side of the patio cool.

Most window screens in residential homes are designed to be removed from the inside, especially with double-hung, single-hung, and casement styles. That said, some setups require exterior removal. Older homes or custom installs may have exterior clips or brackets, and sunscreens are almost always mounted on the outside. Before removing your window screen, look at how it is held in place.

Most solar screens last 10 to 15 years, depending on the material quality, exposure to weather, and the level of maintenance. High-quality materials and regular cleaning can extend their lifespan, while harsh climates or neglect may shorten it. Routine cleaning, inspecting for damage, and avoiding harsh cleaners can help extend the lifespan of your screens.
