"James and Cody are simply the best. Not only are they hard workers, they also respect the land and the artistry of nature surrounding our property. Even when we couldn't articulate exactly what it is we wanted, they knew what we wanted, and what was the best fit for the land. They first cleared 6 heavily wooded acres three years ago for us to our complete satisfaction. They have currently completed a one acre recreational pond (mini lake?) that has enhanced our properties value as well as the intrinsic value for years to come. They patiently explained each nook and cranny for future fishing and focused their efforts on building it for beauty. We couldn't be happier with their serves. This is not a run of the mill stock tank."

Install Above Ground Pools questions, answered by experts

Generally, you should run your pool pump for eight to 12 hours a day to keep your water clean and chemical levels balanced. The ideal runtime can vary depending on your specific pump type. While running the pump as much as possible is ideal for cleanliness, it can increase electricity costs. To save money, you can run the pump strategically during non-peak hours when electricity is cheaper, which is often in the evenings or at night. The hours do not need to be consecutive.

It can take 24 to 48 hours to fill a 15,000-gallon pool with a garden hose. A hose will pump out anywhere from 4 to 12 gallons per minute, with the average hose resting somewhere between 8 to 9 gallons per minute. If you want to speed up the process, a water delivery service can fill your pool in a few hours or less.

The average pool loses one-eighth of an inch of water every day. However, how much your pool will lose depends on various factors, such as water temperature, climate, and weather. Warm water will evaporate more quickly than cold water, and pools in low-humidity climates will experience faster evaporation. However, this doesn’t mean you’ll need to constantly refill your pool.

You shouldn’t swim in a pool with algae. When there’s algae, there’s also bacteria that’s feeding on the algae. Also, algae-infested pool water is often chemically imbalanced, which means germs like Cryptosporidium, Giardia, and E.coli could be present. These germs can cause a range of illnesses from gastrointestinal issues, to rashes, and respiratory problems.

The best thing to do is to get rid of the algae first, test and balance the water, and then you can enjoy swimming without any worries.

You can make your pool accessible to people with disabilities or mobility issues by adding a sloped entrance to the pool and including handrails at all entry and exit points. A pool lift, though expensive, makes it especially easy for people with all levels of mobility to enter and exit a pool safely. Upgrading your whole home to be more accommodating? Here are several tips to make your home more accessible for those with disabilities or those aging in place.
