"The install was just fine, but the timing was very poor. We ordered the water heater on Monday from Home Depot, and was told that it would be installed on the same day. It was installed on THURSDAY. It would have been better to let me know clearly that the installer was over booked because I stayed home for three days when I had things that I needed to do and was waiting."

"If you ever need a foundation company this is bar none the absolute best. I met with all the local foundation companies with the best reputations - RamJack, Baird, GL Hunt and Olshan. The system FSS uses is not the least expensive, but by far the best. All components are galvanized to include the piping. The competitor's equipment could not even compare with FSS. Just as important, the crew who did the work on my home were absolute professionals in their trade. Andrew, Ricky and Gabe were the best. All of them have years of experience and the foreman, Andrew, has almost two decades of knowledge and hands-on experience, and knowing this eased any concernes I had. Once the fifteen piers were all in place, all piers were connected together via hydraulic hoses and pump. Only then was the house lifted simultaneously - both left and right sides. Initially, one of my major concerns was broken plumbing pipes, as I had read from many of their competitor's poor reviews. Once FSS began to lift the house it was done methodically and slowly, being extra careful to try not to break any pipes. No pipes were broken and my house was lifted an inch on the left front side and two and half inches on the right! FSS exceeded my expectations!!"

"All went well with my installation of 7 piers. Even saved money off the initial estimate because they didn't need to go as deep as they thought. That's honest if you ask me.. only knock would be difficulty getting in touch with some departments. But I was always able to contact Jason, my project manager. My home passed engineering and plumbing tests and all is well. Thanks GL"

"James and Jaime arrived at my residence with a professional and friendly demeanor. Their first impressions was consistent from start to finish. Upon there arrival they quickly assessed the work to be done and began replacing my old water softener with a new one. After completing the plumbing reconfiguration, James and Jaime gave me a tutorial to program the new water softener. When the work was completed, the two gentlemen picked the trash and carried away my old water softener. The cost for services was reasonable and the office will work with you on any questions regarding reasonable cost adjustments. I would use Aaron and Hager Plumbing (new business name soon to be "Eager Plumbing") for future plumbing needs."

Mr. Lane responded to my late Sunday evening call within 15 minutes and stated he was on another job in progress but I would be next and would take about an two hours.  However, he called back in one hour and said he was on his way and gave me a GPS estimated time of arrival of 30 minutes.  He was at our home almost within a few minutes of that despite the time being 11:00PM.    We anticipated someone tired and grumpy at that hour but he was very clean-cut, direct, yet courteous.  In fact, he was working a commercial restaurant issue in Kerrville so we knew he was in demand.

He listened to our situation and immediately opened the clean out and it was full to the threads.  We advised Van Delden pumped our septic for it's five year service and there were no problems and our drain field.

We have a long line between the house and the septic box (we are outside the city limits and house was built in the 80's) plus had a curved portion that routes the waste water almost 180 degrees.   He first snaked the line and his snake hit some of the debris but the water barely moved.   He then retrieved his video snake and locator sensor and saw our pipe was oddly curved but no issues or blockage.

I figured he was going to give up since it was so late but he said "No- I'm going to get this water drained so you can at least get a shower in."    He used the sensor to get as close as he could before the line went under our deck and then asked for permission to dig a spot (in some pretty rocky soil and in the dark since we had no patio lights) and to tap a hole in the line.  It was already close to midnight and he was sweating but never stopped working for a minute.   He then ran the snake and within seconds the water dropped right away.

Where the last plumbers we hired to snake it out left it at that but Mr. Lane said the snake didn't feel right so he ran his video snake back down the hole and invited me to watch the screen as he had a hunch what the problem was.  We got within about 10 feet of the box and he showed me that our waste line had a pretty severe 'belly' and you could see the line was compressed noticeably, most likely from a large, old oak tree that used to be in the vicinity.

When that was all done he said he has an excavation crew and could replace the line sometime during the week but we'd be better served having Van Delden or other septic company do it for peace of mind and considering the close proximity to the septic tank.  By then it was almost 12:30AM.

While there are a lot of plumbers that do after-hours emergencies, my wife and I were amazed at his integrity, can-do attitude despite a long day with jobs scattered over several counties, the fact he was clean cut and professional, wrote up an estimate before even starting the work, and the fact he was so clearly tired but did the job fully and never up-charged us, didn't clear the drain and walk away.   I told him we were grateful for the attention to detail and he said he'd rather have a good referral for a thorough job than trying to add charges to one.  He also said, that he respects boundaries as some plumbers cross over into septic territory and vice versa and he said if we are happy with our septic company, it's best to stick with them (and we are).

In summary, it's nice to give a kudo to one of the good guys.  We usually use Rittimann Plumbing for our non-emergency work but we know they are short-staffed and tend not to do after hour emergency calls.   think Mr. Texas Lane (his actual name) and Texas Plumbing is outstanding and saved our sanity.

I don't submit reviews too fast but I've wanted to do this for over a week now.

I feel my fellow Angie's Listers would be very pleased working with Mr. Lane.

Drain Pipe Installation questions, answered by experts

Bleach is generally not recommended for your shower drains. Although diluted bleach can technically help clean your drain, it will not unclog your pipes. In fact, bleach can harm your plumbing system because it’s so powerful. The bleach can change the color of your sink and even corrode metal pipes and fittings.

Often, people reach for bleach because it's already in their house. But it's worth getting a plunger or a drain snake for the job instead. It'll be a lot less money to buy a new plunger than to pay a plumber to repair or replace damaged pipes.

Yes, short hair can clog a drain. While you might be tempted to blame the long-haired people living with you for a clogged drain, hair—no matter the length—can combine with soap scum and leftover shampoo to create a perfect storm of sticky mess that can cause your drain to slow down.

A professional drain cleaner is a plumber or specialized drain cleaner with the necessary tools to unclog drains and tiles to keep waste water flowing out to the septic tank or city sewer for processing. Keeping wastewater from backing up into your home helps keep you and your family safe from potential contamination and sickness. These pros can help resolve nearly any drain situation in a safe and efficient manner.

The spin cycle on your washer should initiate draining, but if you still find leftover water in the washing machine tub, you may need to drain it manually. To manually drain a washing machine, you’ll need to turn off the power supply and locate the drain hose, filter, and pump. Open or disconnect these parts and let the water drain into a bucket.

Unlike regular cleanings, snaking your sewer line should be done as needed. There’s no reason to snake your sewer line if you don’t have any noticeable issues, like slow drainage or plugged drains. You can add it to your regular sewer cleaning checklist as a prevention method (on the same 18- to 22-month schedule), but it’s not always necessary.
