Customers say: True professional

"We wanted to extend our outdoor living space with 2 large patios. Vinyard’s concrete construction was one of several contractors we met with. John from the start was very personable and listen to our ideas attentively. He explain the process and said he would definitely be able to achieve our goal. My husband and I agreed right away we would choose Vinyard’s for our project. John showed good knowledge in his business, he was very professional all the way though. He always kept us up to date and in the loop from start to finish. As for John’s crew, they were prompt, polite and task orientated. These guys really worked. I would definitely recommend John and his crew at Vinyard concrete construction. Thank you John for “ MAKING IT HAPPEN”!! God Bless you and yours always"

"I hired Foundation Support Specialists to do a large stabilization, drainage, and waterproofing project to a concrete slab addition in the back of my home. I was experiencing shifting and water penetration and was desperate for help. I called one company that never called me back after a lengthy estimate (frustrating) and another that only handled foundation work and not drainage work. Foundation Support Specialists fulfilled all of my needs as a homeowner. My project date started weeks sooner than anticipated and was completed within 2-weeks. Josh and other team members were communicative and helpful throughout the process. The crew completed the work and left no mess behind. The financing option was also great and I received a low interest rate for the entire project. I cannot express how happy I am with this company and their work on my home."

Customers say: Quality work

"Ben did an outstanding job. No project goes without its glitches. The few glitches we had, Ben took care of right away. It's been 1 & 1/2 years since the construction finished and no problems. I'm very happy with Ben and his subcontractors. His foundation guys and framers were amazing."

"Excellent! Could not have chosen a better contractor to do my required work. Jose and crew gave full attention to every detail, from keeping me informed, staying on schedule as permitted, and very knowledgeable in the various materials that were possible to be used. After completion their job clean-up was thorough, loading and hauling off unused material. I absolutely would hire JC Construction again, in fact, already have another job in the making for he and his crew! My yard looks great, thanks to JC Construction!"

Concrete Mudjacking questions, answered by experts

Polyjacking and mudjacking can both be effective solutions for sinking concrete, but they have key differences. Polyjacking, which uses expanding polyurethane foam, is often considered a better option because the foam is significantly lighter than the cementitious material used for mudjacking. This reduced weight puts less pressure on the underlying soil and lowers the risk of future sinking. Polyjacking is suitable for any sinking concrete slab, while mudjacking is typically only recommended for non-structural concrete, such as sidewalks, patios, pool decks, and driveways. The primary drawback of polyjacking is its cost, which can be up to four times higher than mudjacking—as much as $25 per square foot compared to a maximum of about $6 per square foot for mudjacking.

A good slump height really depends on the project, but there is a use for nearly all slump levels. For example, low slumps are best in projects that require structure, such as curbs and roads. High slumps often require additional reinforcement, but they flow more freely into hard-to-reach spaces.

Most houses are expected to settle over time, but foundation sinking of more than a few inches or uneven sinking of more than an inch for every 20 feet is cause for concern. Any significant or uneven sinking should be assessed by a professional to determine the cause and perform any necessary repairs.

Mudjacking typically takes 24 to 72 hours (one to three days) to dry and cure completely before you can resume normal use. The total drying time can vary depending on the size of the project. Because the slurry mixture contains cement, it needs to harden fully to prevent the concrete slab from shifting under added weight. You should avoid walking on the concrete or placing heavy items like furniture or vehicles on the surface until it has fully set. Your concrete contractor can provide a precise timeline. As a point of comparison, if you opt for polyjacking, the polyurethane foam can dry in minutes, but it's recommended to wait about an hour before use.

Mudjacking is suitable for sidewalks, driveways, patios, and nearly all exterior flat structures. However, it may not suit severely damaged or heavily cracked areas.
