"These guys are the very best, most knowledgeable painters I’ve ever encountered in my life. They are responsive, fair, professional and they went above and beyond for our home. I would definitely recommend them. We had a laundry list of home improvement items that we had tried to fix ourselves, and they were able to literally give my home a facelift. Everyone who has come over has instantly noticed. The quality of paint is exactly what we needed. Nick listens to your needs and is a wealth of information if you have any questions. Looking to resell your home and gain a higher resale value? Book these guys. They were able to get everything done in one day. Have renters and need a facelift for new renters? Book these guys. Want to go with the latest Pinterest ideas? Book these guys! They were able to get wonderful new colors of paints and color match my existing colors. I’m beyond impressed. You won’t be disappointed."

"The paint crew came in on time, prepped the walls, covered the floors and painted the walls with a primary coat, then painted the walls with two coats of paint. They cleaned up after the job and were professional throughout the process. I would recommend them to anyone."

"Painting went well. After painting was completed and few days later I noted that some of my texture areas of my walls were not smooth  which showed  bumpy looking spot on the wall. I was told that they can come back in and fixed the texture area but will be an additional cost. I was under the impression that  fixing all unsmooth texture areas were part of painting the house. I have to rehire some else to fix these unsmooth these texture area and repaint those same area again. The remaining of the house was painted well.

"He is a kind of handyman. He said that he specializes in painting but he did one side of the fence that we needed and he also did some other work. He is very customer oriented. I am the only one at home during the day time and he is really non-threatening and that is an additional point for him."

"Daniel Mares did a fantastic job repairing two areas of drywall that had been cut into for plumbing and electrical work.  The original surface had a heavy knock down texture and I was worried that any repair done would be obvious because of the differences in texture.  Daniel not only repaired the drywall, but he matched the texture PERFECTLY--you cannot tell any hole had existed to begin with.
Daniel came to give us a free estimate a couple of days after we contacted him, and was able to begin work the following day.  He covered the work areas, surrounding areas and floor completely with plastic and paper, as well as our front porch and wore disposable booties to keep our floors clean.  He came completely prepared with everything needed and was done within a couple of hours, cleaning up everything and leaving no trace that he was ever there, except for the perfect repair.
We will be using No Limit Painting/Daniel Mares for a future project removing wallpaper, repairing drywall, texturing and painting our master bathroom and secondary bath.  We were very pleased with the end results and highly recommend this company to others.

"

The house hadn't been painted in 31 years and there was a lot of rot.  Toned Homes replaced wood everywhere.  The dried out wood soaked up the paint and required almost twice what was expected.  Like on the previous jobs, Toned Homes didn't restrict work to what was specified in the contract but instead automatically handled all tasks as they were identified.

"Fast, friendly, & knowledgeable and about his business. Recommended for any home renovation. Not only did Louis and his staff refinish our hardwood floors, but they also completed two another contractors mistakes and provided solutions to minor problems we were not even concerned with at the time. Worked within our budget and will call upon for any other renovation/small home project."

"Antonio (owner) came out and gave us the estimate several months before we were ready to have the work done. By the time we were ready, he stuck by his original proposal and was ready to start work right away. He sent his crew to install all of the drywall in just a couple of days. The next stage was to float and tape the drywall which involved applying "mud" and taping all of the joints and applying mud over all the screws that were holding the drywall in place. This was a very labor intensive task but they were able to complete it in just a few days and did an excellent job. The next step was to sand all of the mud they had applied to the joints and screws. We decided to go with smooth walls as opposed to having texture applied and were charged an additional $400 for what Antonio called a level 5 sanding job which was necessary for smooth walls. We agreed to the extra charge and felt it was well worth the extra expense to have the walls look the way we wanted them to look. The men spent only one day sanding the walls and ceilings and actually showed up the next day ready to spray on the primer. My husband and I could clearly see that the walls needed a lot more sanding before they were ready to be painted and communicated this to the painters. The painting was halted and two more days of sanding was required to get it to the level it needed to be before it was ready for paint. Our biggest concern was if we had not been there to point out the sanding issues, the paint would have been sprayed on over an incomplete sanding job. We were never really able to get a clear answer as to why this happened. The primer was applied to all of the walls and ceilings and then the ceilings were painted. Most everything looks good with a few exceptions which my husband and I will need to fix before we paint the walls. They seem to be very good at installing/floating/taping drywall but i'm not sure they had the experience needed to do a really good job on the level 5 sanding. They showed up on time every day and were able to complete the job within the time frame Antonio gave us in the beginning.

I'm updating this review because when I originally wrote it we had not yet moved into our home. As we are now moving in and able to really take a good look around, we have noticed so many areas that were very poorly done. There are quite a few places that were barely sanded at all. The master bedroom closet was especially bad. I guess they felt it was not highly visible so it wouldn't matter.  As we were installing all of the light switch and plug covers there are many of them that don't even cover the cut out area around the switches and plugs.  The basboards will also not be able to cover many of the low wall areas that were not done correctly. The bathroom had existing wall tile and where the drywall meets up with the tile it is very rough and looks ugly. We will have to work on all of these areas before we are able to paint each room. I wish Antonio would have told us they were not experienced enough to do this type of finish work and we could have looked for someone else.

Wallpapering questions, answered by experts

No. If you overlap seams, the wallpaper will not come out flat. In addition to possibly throwing off your pattern match between rolls, overlapping seems necessary. If wallpaper is properly acclimated, and temperature and moisture conditions are optimal during installation, there is no reason to fear shrinkage as it dries.

You may end up with extra wallpaper once your project is finished. Hang on to that wallpaper, as you may need to use it to patch up areas that get damaged later on. If you have a lot of excess wallpaper, try getting creative with it. You can use it to line the inside of a cabinet or drawers, for example.

Your peel-and-stick wallpaper can fall off for multiple reasons, including high humidity levels, extreme temperature changes, poor installation, and even the wall surface. Textured walls can prevent the adhesive from fully sticking to the wall, making it more likely for the wallpaper to peel off. Low-quality wallpapers with weaker adhesives are also more likely to fall off prematurely.

The color of the paint, its opacity, and the depth of the texture on the paper all affect how many coats of paint you need to apply to paintable wallpaper. You'll need at least two coats of paint to ensure even coverage. Don’t be surprised if you need to apply three coats if the embossing is very deep or if you use a dark color.

Deciding between a lighter or darker accent wall depends on the effect you’re going for. Choosing an accent wall in a lighter color will make a room feel brighter and more spacious and complement rooms with less natural light. A darker accent wall will add drama and depth to a room and help make larger rooms feel more cozy and intimate.
