"Was asked if I wanted to be on the cheap or if I wanted to upgrade for long-term durability and use.  I  have no plans to sell my home so was interested in quality of materials used to manufacture the parts, e.g., not bronzed/chromed plastics, and that are proven to be reliable.  It was also nice to be asked upfront what features were most important to us e.g., long neck or horizontal faucet; type of sprayer preferred, requirements for sink drain, and method to turn on/off the outside values (slide vs/ screw).  All pricing was given with parts and labor inclusive so there was no question what I was expected to pay for each facet of repair considered.  Faucet was ordered so was kept informed when it would be available and was contacted at that time to schedule a time to install.  No delay from initial contact to project completion.
Extremely pleased with this provider.

"Joe from JMS Drain Services was my service technician who arrived well within the window scheduled service time. Joe came in, inspected the sink to determine how to resolve my issue, took out the tool (snake apparatus) to clear the sink, and departed my premises within 15 minutes. I was pleased he resolved my clogged sink so quickly so I could rest after a night's work. Thank you again, Joe."

Sink Installation questions, answered by experts

Pedestal sinks are bolted or screwed into the floor and the wall to prevent it from moving out of place. You may have to change or add to the bathroom flooring when installing a pedestal sink if the flooring was laid around the previous sink, not under it.

It is best practice to hire a plumber to install a bathroom sink and vanity. Even simple installations require basic plumbing work, such as connecting water supply lines and attaching the sink to the drainage system. While an experienced DIYer might manage a straightforward setup, any complex work, like modifying existing plumbing or installing new lines, should always be left to a licensed plumber to avoid the risk of expensive water damage. In most cases, a plumber will handle the installation, provided it is a straightforward job that does not require custom carpentry. It's important to outline your expectations with the plumber beforehand to confirm they can handle the full project.

While you can put Drano in a sink with standing water, most plumbers don’t recommend doing so. It usually doesn’t help to clear the clog, and you’ll end up with a sink full of standing water plus a toxic chemical—which is very unpleasant to deal with and best handled by a professional.

When installing an undermount kitchen sink in a granite countertop, use 100% silicone to secure the basin. If you’re worried your sink is too heavy, speak with a countertop professional about how to adhere the sink to the countertop without worrying about issues down the road. Sagging undermount sinks can be a common plumbing problem if they’re not properly adhered, so always make sure you’re using a high-quality material.

You’ll only need to replace your sink’s pipes when you start to notice signs of wear like corrosion or leaking. Most pipes last somewhere between 20 and 100 years, depending on the material. Copper and cast iron can last up to 100 years. Galvanized steel and brass generally have a 50-year lifespan. PVC pipes last 25 to 40 years.
