"SETX Roofing Pros did a great job at replacing the roof on my house! It looks beautiful. The crew cleaned up everything thoroughly! Over all the experience with this company and the employees was 10/10. We did not come across any unexpected fees or costs. They finished the job in one day! Bret and the crew were professional and friendly. I can’t say enough good things about this company and will definitely use them in the future for any roofing needs and will recommend them to friends and family. Thank y’all again!"

"I previously worked with Mustafa on my parents house and couple months ago I noticed a leak in my attic. Mustafa was able to come out give me a quote and get started on my roof within couple days after contact signed. I was pleased with him and his crew from the first roof they installed on my parents house. They also did an outstanding job on mine, from the office lady, crew and field supervisor. Honest company and stands behind there promises and work. If your looking for good customer service, honest people, great work…. They are your go to! Thank you guys again!"

Roofing questions, answered by experts

You can replace a roof in the winter, though it’s not the most popular time to do so. The biggest drawback of winter roofing work is the weather. Snow and ice make for dangerous, slippery working conditions. Plus, shingles can only be installed in temperatures above 40 to 45 degrees.

The best time to replace a roof is in the spring or fall when the weather is mild. However, you can likely save some money by booking the job in the winter off-season, when roofers have more availability.

No, you can’t use your home’s square footage. You have to calculate your roof’s square footage, and then you may have to convert your square footage measurement to correspond with how the roofing material is measured. For instance, some roofing is sold in “squares,” which equals the total square footage of the roof divided by 100. Shingles are sold in bundles that may not correspond to the number of squares you need. Metal roofing is sold as sheets, so determine the amount of square feet each panel will cover and then divide the total square footage by the coverage area.

The most important thing to remember when laying shingles is to work from the bottom of the slope to the top. This leaves you with a top overlap that directs runoff from one row to the next until it reaches the eave for disposal. You should also make sure you follow the manufacturer's instructions and the local building code for nailing patterns and frequency so all of your hard work stays put through varying weather conditions.

Underlayment exists under your tile roof. It helps protect your home by acting as a secondary water barrier. Often, when roof tiles fall off, underlayment that's in good condition can temporarily keep water from getting into the home. However, immediate replacement of missing tiles is crucial to avoid additional roof damage.

Yes, shingle brand can affect bundle sizes, with some brands weighing more than others and having slightly differing numbers of shingles.
