Paul & Jonee Barnett, local residents & owners of Miracle Method of SW Houston, & our technicians are committed to providing the quality & preferred service for which Miracle Method has been known since 1979. Miracle Method has the one-of-a-kind MM-4 bonding agent that creates a molecular bond between the cleaned surface & the new coating. Others may claim to use materials similar to MM-4 …but they’re not as good, or proven for nearly 30 years! We specialize in the repair & resurfacing of bathroom & kitchen fixtures, such as tubs, sinks, vanity tops & countertops made of Formica™, porcelain, fiberglass, ceramic tile, & cultured marble. Our business is founded on the good old-fashioned values of honesty & integrity. You'll appreciate our quality craftsmanship. It would be our pleasure to meet you at your home or property for a free estimate. Besides being an Angie's List Super Service Award winner we are accredited members of the BBB. Our showroom is open Monday - Friday 9am to Noon and 1pm to 4pm. We are in a gated facility so please call ahead for an appointment.

"Right before my warranty expired the bathtub I had refinished started peeling on the area in front of the tub. When I called to get it fixed the office that did the original job was redistricted and would not service me so there was some back and forth with the new location in my service area taking responsibility for the repair. They finally agreed to do the repair but never completed it. The area they fixed was patched but never repainted to match the rest of the tub so it now looks white in some area's but a dingy gray on the patched area and now my warranty has expired."

"It went so well and they did exactly what the contract said that they would do. Our contract was specific that left nothing to misunderstand about what I wanted done or they to do. They were working with 24 year old oak cabinets and were exact in matching corners & fronts of those old cabinets. It all looks so good. I worked with the owners daughter. The owner was very nice also. The carpenters were a pleasure to work with. They did their work and then the owner would call or text me to ask it there was anything that needed their attention. The payment process was excellent in that it was all done on Intuit and could come directly out of my checking account."

Our company is an A+ accredited buisness with the BBB. We are experts in painting, trim carpentry, tile, wood/laminate/ vinyl and tile flooring. We also do bathroom remodels. We use a contract on all jobs and require a 50 percent down payment to start job.

"They said it would be a 3 day job. The first day they were there for 90 minutes. The second day they didn't show at all. The third they were there for 5 hours. Because they were so far behind and in a hurry to finish they pretty much threw the shower in, it doesn't align and they lied to my husband and said the shower door only could be installed one way, when in fact it would work opening to the left or the right. Then they asked for more money because the job took longer than expected."

Cabinet Refacing and Refinishing questions, answered by experts

DIY is possible with proper preparation and equipment, but a professional painter ensures smoother finishes, especially for intricate cabinetry.

For a smooth and long-lasting finish, opt for an 100 percent acrylic, semi gloss latex self-leveling paint. There are many brands and types of paint to choose from, so do research before deciding which one is best for your project. Some paints even have qualities that might save you time. For example, some paints have primer so you can skip priming separately and start painting right away.

If you don’t want to sand your bathroom cabinets before painting, it’s possible to make it work. However, sanding the cabinets for a long-lasting paint job is always best. Make sure your cabinets are in good shape, choose high-quality paint, and use a deglosser. The deglosser strips the paint, varnish, or stain from the cabinets to give you a clean slate to work from.

In many cases, you can use a roller to paint detached cabinet doors and cabinet sides more quickly. However, expect at least some brush or spray gun work to complete the project, especially if your cabinets have complex insets, which are difficult to paint with a roller.

First, start with any planned structural changes. That includes demolition and installing new gas lines, piping, or lighting. From there, complete any projects that require a lot of construction to install. Paint your walls while the space is mostly empty, install the cabinets before the countertops to ensure the former doesn’t get damaged, and save all cosmetic changes (like installing new light fixtures or hardware) for the very last moment.
