"Solis was great!! They did a fantastic job on removing my tree and grinding it down until nothing was left but dirt. We agreed to a reasonable price, a day and it was done. I still have some trees that need trimming and I will be calling them again."

"These guys are awesome!! They came with professional equipment, took my large tree down, and allowed me to add another smaller tree to the job, never skipped a beat. Everything was cleaned up and hauled away. All at a very reasonable price! I would definitely recommend David @ Lobo to anyone needing this kind of service."

"Jonathan and his crew were amazing! They let me know every step of the way if there was something that came up that was a little different than we discussed. Our front yard is now clear and ready to do something new and our two big live oaks have many more years of shade to give after a great pruning! Thank you guys so much and will definitely recommend All American Tree Care to everyone I talk to needing tree and brush care."

"DR Bob treated my tree for Dutch elm disease, as well as my shrubs for spider mites, and black spot. Definitely cheaper than replacing all my shrubs, which I was preparing to do. Prompt and professional. Fingers crossed, this works!"

"I would highly recommend Rivera Tree Service & Dirt Work. They had the quickest response. Requested tree service on the ANGI app on March 14, 2025. Services were performed on March 17th, 2025. Had it not rained on the 15 they would have cut it down that day. It took one day to bring down a huge oak tree in my back yard that sat very close to a fence between my house and my neighbors house. They came back the next day to grind the stump. They were very professional, polite and cleaned up afterwards. I was very impressed with the workmanship and would hire them again. Prices were reasonable. Definitely will recommend to others."

"Busby Tree Service was great! We got in trouble cutting down a dead 80’ oak tree with a hollow trunk. The tree began to fall in the wrong direction and got caught up in another tree, preventing it from falling on our house. We called Seth Busby, finding his business on your website. He and his crew were here in a little over an hour, safely and professionally removing the tree. We will be using them again to remove stumps and remove another tree. Great crew!!"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

A dead tree should always be cut down, because it could fall and cause injuries or damage, and it can also attract insects like carpenter ants. A tree that’s diseased beyond repair should also be cut down, but it’s not always easy for a homeowner to tell. Signs of disease include dying branches, a hollow trunk, leaning, and discolored or missing leaves, but your best bet is to hire a local arborist who can evaluate the tree and tell you if it can be saved or should be cut down.

On grafted trees, tree suckers will grow from the root stock, not the branches grafted onto it. Therefore, the leaves and characteristics of the suckers aren’t the same as the tree because they are different varieties. Root stock has more hardiness, strength, or drought tolerance than its grafted limbs, so if the suckers are from fruit or flowers, it might be different than the main part of your tree.

You’ll have to balance up the cost, the value of the tree (sentimental or otherwise), and the risk factors. An experienced arborist will help you understand whether transplanting is likely to be successful. The cost and hassle of transplanting a large, well-established tree are often not worth it, especially if the species is fast-growing and easy to source. The decision depends on the age and species of the tree, the conditions in the new site location, and how careful the company is when digging out and moving the tree.

For trimming trees, your best tool is a pair of pruning shears or loppers. Both options work best for branches that are under 3 inches in diameter. Trimming trees with a larger diameter may require a robust tool like a small chainsaw or a handsaw, so take into account your tree’s diameter when deciding between tools.

The ideal time to prune a tree depends on the type of tree. Typically, late winter or early spring is a good time to prune but isn't always the case for "towering trees." It's best to trim when trees are dormant and before blooms appear but can vary depending on the tree type. It's always best to research the type of tree or ask a professional tree trimmer to determine when is the perfect time to prune your tree.
