"Great! JTB Painting easily won our job on the basis of price and his reviews on Angie's List. He prepped and painted all exterior wood surfaces and trim on our house in Irving, TX. We found Jeff to be as good or better than his reviews. He gave us a great price, did excellent work prepping and painting our house, and completed the work with the time he said it would take. It was very hot outside, but he worked through the heat of the day to get the job done. My next-door neighbor was so impressed with the work Jeff did on my house, he hired JTB to do his house, too! Jeff is honest, hard-working, soft-spoken, does great work, and is as good as his word."

"We had this hideous wallpaper in our home. After a year of looking at the bare walls, and never having anyone actually follow through with the price quote, for the 2 the actually showed up to get us this far, I had low expectations. Tony and his crew restored my confidence that someone actually wants to work! Very professional, responsive, and I still cannot believe the final result! Within days we were able to paint the bedroom and bath. I have my home back again!! Highly recommend White Lion. The crew were zero maintenance, I almost forgot they were here working, and their quality of work...well...no words. Excellent! Thank you guys.
So good, that we requested another quote for additional work in the house. We are a very happy couple with a simply beautiful room to relax in. Thank you White Lion.

"David worked all by himself for 2 days -- was punctual and worked all day with only a short lunch break.  He is very much a perfectionist, from covering everything carefully with drop cloths, filling nail holes, painting around fixtures, etc., to painting doors to a beautiful glossy finish without a single brush stroke noticeable.  He went back over some stains on a ceiling (from a previous water leak) with some Kilz I had on hand in order to cover it up.  He is the most skilled painter I've ever had when it comes to trim work and doors.  He is very courteous, easy to talk to and professional, with a sincere desire to do his very best and please the customer.  I asked what he liked to do most, painting walls or trim. and he said "hanging wallpaper".  I don't know a single painter that prefers to do trim, and even less that enjoy wallpapering.  I have 2 rooms with wallpaper and will definitely call David when I need to change it.

"I was very satisfied with the process of the paint job in our home. We are new to the area and needed our new home to feel more homey. I was impressed with the professionalism of this company and chose them over a typical contractor or big name. The job went according to plan and was well overseen. When I had questions, they were easy to reach and put me and my concerns at ease. Very nicely cleaned up at the completion and will be using them again in the future for my exterior. "

Wallpapering questions, answered by experts

Accent walls can feel out of place or distracting if not well designed. Accent walls that don’t fit in with a room’s style can feel jarring or overpowering. Some accent wall styles can also feel dated, but fortunately, it’s easier to update a single wall than an entire room.

The two most common reasons wallpaper does not stick are a lack of preparation and improper adhesive. Be sure to use the wallpaper paste designed for the type of paper you choose. Before beginning your project, make sure the walls are clean and free of dust, grease, and oils.

No, you don’t need to apply paint primer to your wall before hanging paintable wallpaper. Manufacturers design paintable wallpaper so that the paint will adhere effectively, so primer isn’t necessary. Plus, even if you opt for a light shade of paint, you won’t have to worry about the shade underneath showing through because you are painting on a light, white surface.

Painting over wallpaper is an efficient way to cover it if it’s in decent shape. Before painting over wallpaper, make sure the surface is clean and smooth. You may have to remove minor problem areas, such as lifted seams or small peels, with a sheetrock knife or putty knife. Add a latex- or oil-based primer to keep moisture at bay before painting. You’ll likely need two coats of paint to cover the area.

Textured or patterned vinyl wallpaper designs are the best option for hiding imperfections. Embossed designs or faux finishes like brick, wood, or linen textures are especially effective at camouflaging dents, cracks, or uneven surfaces. Avoid smooth, shiny finishes, as they can highlight flaws rather than conceal them.
