"At the consultation, Todd seemed very courteous and professional. He took measurements & made notes of what all we needed built. He asked us to send pictures of how we wanted the bathroom cabinets made, which we sent. On the day of installation, Todd and his helper came in and got right to work. However, we were very disappointed in the following: 1. The walls were damaged in every room that a cabinet was installed, with no apology, initiative or offer to repair the damages. 2. All cabinets were to have adjustable shelving. Only the Master Bedroom closet had adjustable shelves. 3. None of the cabinets had finishing trim on the bottom edges of them. They were just squared off like a big box ready-made cabinet. 4. The shelves in the master closet were laid against each other while the paint was wet and they had obviously been stuck together. We've asked him to replace or repair them, but he adamantly refuses. He says we stacked the shelves causing that issue, but we did not. The damaged sides were strategically placed leaning against the walls in the closet. Had they not been damaged, I'm sure he would have properly installed them in the cabinet. Also, they had been painted in the shop, so they should have been dried properly by the time they were brought to the house. 5. None of the bathroom cabinets were made to our specifications, according to the pictures we sent. When I texted him about it, his reply was "I forgot." No apology or effort was made to reconcile the oversight. 5. Todd's professionalism ceased the moment he received the last payment. I have a series of texts to prove that he does not stand behind his work and is rude to his clients. 6. The only thing I have requested Todd to make this right is the master bedroom shelves be remade or repaired. My husband & I have both tried to sand the damages out of the shelves with no success. So I don't think it is out of line to request the shelves be remade. I even offered to give the old shelves back so he could use them with another client. His response was "Don't be a smart a_ _." I'm offended by his lack of professionalism and desire to stand by his client and give excellent customer service. As I shared with Todd, we paid him exactly what he requested and expected for the job, however, we did not get any of our projects completed exactly as we expected. As a contractor listed with Angie's List, I believe you should know who you are referring and how they are representing you. We gave the company a D rating because the overall quality of the cabinetry was good except for following our requests. However, we will never give Evans Home Improvement as a reference. (We can provide pictures of everything we've stated, except the wall damage, which has already been repaired.)"

"To begin with it was good. Great communication along with a good price. After he was paid the service and communication went down hill. The roof was removed and replaced on a Saturday. The crew did not speak any English and used a phone app to communicate with me. Marc was no where to be found on the replacement day. Fast forward 10 months, and there are a few minor issues. One of the roofing shingles blew off. And a vent pipe in the attic was broken. Also, the gutter guards were missing. Marc's replies were that a tree rubbed the shingle lose, the nearest tree branch is over 20 feet away. Then he said it was a squirrel. The pipe he said had nothing to do with the roof. I made the comment that the roofers had to move the pipe on the roof to get the shingles in place. After waiting over a month for someone to come check everything out, Marc quoted me $500 to make the repairs that should have been covered under warranty. I asked ofr his Insurance information and he would not provide it to me. I have several pictures of the damaged items."

Rotting wood, frame misalignment, or damaged seals often require attention.

There are a few options if you miss a stud. You can simply patch the hole with spackle, sand it down, repaint it, and then find the stud—essentially starting over. If you don’t want to do that, you can insert one of the more robust drywall anchor options and hang your item on that, but that will only work if the drywall is in excellent condition and the anchor is rated for the weight of the item you’re hanging on it. You may be able to cover the hole with the object itself once it’s mounted, but it’s still recommended to at least fill the hole to protect insulation and prevent vermin from entering.

By careful planning and reinforcement to maintain structural integrity.

Modern brick houses are really stick-built homes with a brick facade for aesthetic purposes only, so most have framing. With genuine brick construction, most homeowners install furring strips over the interior of the brick and then install drywall over those strips to cover the brick wall, so they don’t have traditional framing.

The primary parts of a house that need framing during construction are floors, exterior walls, interior walls, and the roof. The framing in these areas provides the skeleton for adding other materials over the top. With walls, for example, contractors can hang drywall over the interior walls and siding over the outside of the exterior walls. Proper framing ensures a sturdy house that is built to last.
